Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has nine horses racing on Sunday 7 April at Kranji.  After a winning double on Friday evening, Te Akau Singapore trainer Mark Walker remains on top of the Trainers' Premiership.

7.10 p.m. R3 5 Ancient Warrior (6 g Iffraaj - Nuance) - Benny Woodworth; drew barrier 7 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1700 metres on the poly track and carries 53.5kgs. After a good last start third, he faces a tougher race and rates a place chance.

8.15 p.m. R5 8 Sacred Croix (4 g Savabeel - Croix Du Sud) - Benny Woodworth; drew barrier 6 of 12 in the $70,000 Class 3 1600 metres on turf and carries 54kgs. Going for four wins in a row, which is hard to achieve, he is however a classy horse and he rates a top each way chance.

8.15 p.m. R5 10 Richebourg (4 g Real Saga - Tallulah Bee) - Glen Boss; drew barrier 4 of 12 in the $70,000 Class 3 1600 metres on turf and carries 53kgs. Balloted out on Friday night over 1400 metres, he thus steps from 1200m to 1600m but still presents as a top four prospect.

8.45 p.m. R6 1 Heart of Courage (4 g Fastnet Rock - Myrrh) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 7 of 11 in the $20,000 Maiden 1600 metres on turf and carries 58kgs. Although frustrating with two recent seconds, the leading rider climbs aboard and with his recent form, this four year old must pose a top four contender.

9.15 p.m. R7 1 Distinctive Darci (5 g Darci Brahma - Distinctive Lass) - Benny Woodworth; drew barrier 11 of 14 in the $100,000 Japan Racing Association Class 1 1200 metres on turf and carries 57kgs. He is far better on the poly track, but unfortunately there are no suitable races thus he rates a place chance.

9.50 p.m. R8 9 Barbeque (4 g Helmet - Heat of the Fire) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 2 of 14 in the $70,000 Class 3 1200 metres on turf and carries 55kgs. A very nice newcomer to the stable and although the 1200 metres is too short for him, he has trialled well to rate a place chance.

10.25 p.m. R9 7 Elite Invincible  (5 g Archarcharch - Dough on the Go) - Benny Woodworth; drew barrier 8 of 11 in the $500,000 Chairman's Trophy (Gr. 2, 1600m) on turf and carries 58kgs. Our Group 1 Singapore Gold Cup winner, racing under tough weight-for-age conditions - he rates a place chance.

11.00 p.m. R10 5 Sacred Guru (5 g Savabeel - Biriyani) - Benny Woodworth; drew barrier 9 of 14 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 58kgs. A last start winner and he rates a top four prospect.

11.00 p.m. R10 10 Black Quail (5 g Coats Choice - Sefidi) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 10 of 14 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 56.5kgs. Any rain around would aid his prospects of being a top four finisher.
