Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has 13 horses entered on Sunday 14 January at Kranji – second meeting for the new season (calendar year).

5:00 p.m. R1 12 Red Maned (5 m Burgundy – Imagunakepa) – Mohd Zaki; she drew barrier 1 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 56kg. Having her first start for stable, she trialled well, but does prefer the turf.

5:30 p.m. R2 2 Roger Roger (4 g Zacinto – Swiss Precision) – Ivan Espindola; he drew barrier 7 of 11 in the $20,000 Maiden 1100 metres on the poly track and carries 57.5kg. Freshened, he will be seeking to show improvement - the first of two for the stable in the event.

5:30 p.m. R2 7 Otahuhu (4 g Overshare – O’Reilly Miracle) – Jamil Sarwi (a3); he drew the outside barrier (11) in the $20,000 Maiden 1100 metres on the poly track and carries 54.5kg. He will press forward from the awkward draw (11) and is among the top four prospects with any luck.

7:30 p.m. R6 8 Elliot Ness (6 g Written Tycoon – Walk With Attitude) – Shin Chong (a4); he drew barrier 9 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the  poly track and carries 47.5kg. He should be competitive with a 50 percent course/distance place record - the first of a stable duo lining up.

7:30 p.m. R6 10 Rhett Butler (3 g Charm Spirit – Thurlow) – Jamil Sarwi (a3); he drew barrier 9 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 48kg. Fresh-up after injury, he has had two trials to prepare and has first four claims.

8:30 p.m. R8 5 Rocky (5 g El Roca – Anthology) – Jamil Sarwi (a3); he drew barrier 5 of 10 in the $50,000 Class 4 1700 metres on the poly track and carries just 49kg. He gets in well at the weights and rates a top four chance.

9:00 p.m. R9 1 Contarelli (4 g Caravaggio – Dark And Stormy) – Shin Chong (a4); he drew barrier 7 of 12 in the $75,000 Novice 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 54kg. He will likely settle back and be looking to run home strongly - the first of three in this for the team.

9:00 p.m. R9 5 Prince Lonhro (4 g Lonhro – Palace Gardens) – Ivan Espindola; he drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $75,000 Novice 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 55kg. He posted a fair run last time and will be seeking to improve but is another who will need luck from a wide draw (11).

9:00 p.m. R9 7 Gun (3 g Extreme Choice – Myrtle Turtle) – Jamil Sarwi (a3); he drew barrier 4 of 12 in the $75,000 Novice 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 51.5kg. He has been a winner on the turf so he will need to cope with poly, that's the question mark.

9:30 p.m. R10 2 Countofmontecristo (10 g Echoes of Heaven – Replicate) – Ibrahim Mamat (a3); he drew the outside barrier (12) in the $70,000 Class 3 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 55kg. Fresh-up, he is back in trip, and does like both the course and distance - another race featuring a stable trio.

9:30 p.m. R10 4 Knippenberg (4 g I Am Invincible – Red Fez) – Jamil Sarwi (a3); he drew barrier 4 of 12 in the $70,000 Class 3 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 54.5kg. He has performed on the poly going previously and is ideally drawn (4) to race well.

9:30 p.m. R10 6 Stenmark (5 g Medaglia d’Oro – Scandiva) – Benny Woodworth; he drew barrier 2 of 12 in the $70,000 Class 3 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 57kg. It's his first start since surgery and he will improve for the run.

10:00 p.m. R11 11 Super Posh (8 g Super Easy – Posh Bec) – Jamil Sarwi (a3); he drew barrier 8 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 49kg. He is looking to recapture previous form.
