Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has 22 horses (including five on ballot) racing on Sunday 23 August at Kranji.

Trainer Mark Walker ended last season (Dec. 8) with 73 wins to claim his third title as Singapore Champion Trainer, and currently leads with 33 wins this year.

4.00 p.m. R1 14 Red Riding Wood (7 g Redwood - Dreamcatcher) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a3); drew barrier 9 of 14 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on turf and carries 54kgs. Preferred over more distance, but blinkers go on and thus he rates an each way chance.

4.30 p.m. R2 3 Entertainer (4 g Zoustar - Laughing) - Benny Woodworth; drew barrier 4 of 14 in the $75,000 Restricted Maiden 1200 metres on turf and carries 57.5kgs. He is improved for his first-up run and looks a top four chance - the first of two for the trainer.

4.30 p.m. R2 11 Speedy Missile (4 g Smart Missile - Telegraph Girl) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a3); drew barrier 6 of 14 in the $75,000 Restricted Maiden 1200 metres on turf and carries 54.5kgs. He rates a place chance if he gets away cleanly from the gates.

5.00 p.m. R3 13 What You Like  (7 g Savabeel - Kinsella) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a3); drew the outside barrier (12) in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 48.5kgs. Up in class, first on ballot and he is unlikely to gain a start.

5.30 p.m. R4 8 Happy Friday (4 g Shooting to Win - Enide) - Andrew John; drew barrier 10 of 14 in the $75,000 Restricted Maiden 1200 metres on turf and carries 57.5kgs. While he is preferred over further ground, he is improving and rates an each way chance.

6.00 p.m. R5 11 Hidden Promise  (8 g Postponed - Promissory) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a3); drew barrier 8 of 14 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on turf and carries 54kgs. Another looking for more distance, but the blinkers are added and he presents as an each way chance at odds.

6.00 p.m. R5 16 Lim's Rhythm  (6 g Rock ‘N' Pop - Paixanito) - unfixed; drew barrier 7 of 14 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on turf and carries 56kgs. Ballot two, he unlikely to gain a start.

6.30 p.m. R6 2 Showbound  (4 g Showcasing - Midnight Senorita) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a3); drew barrier 7 of 14 in the $20,000 Maiden 1400 metres on turf and carries 54.5kgs. A horse om the improve, with blinkers on, he has top four prospects.

6.30 p.m. R6 15 Quick Shosha  (4 g Snitzel - Leinan) - unfixed; drew the outside barrier (14) in the $20,000 Maiden 1400 metres on turf and carries 57.5kgs. Ballot one, he unlikely to gain a start.

7.00 p.m. R7 5 Man of Mystery  (6 g All Too Hard - Black Minx) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a3); drew barrier 4 of 12 in the $70,000 Class 3 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 52.5kgs. Whilew looking better suited back in Class 4, he rates a place chance while fresh.

7.00 p.m. R7 6 Sacred Don  (6 g Fastnet Rock - Donatella) - Dennis Tan (a4); drew barrier 4 of 12 in the $70,000 Class 3 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 51.5kgs. He would be better placed in Class 4 to again be competitive.

7.30 p.m. R8 10 Barbarian  (4 g Redoute's Choice - Fume Blanc) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a3); drew barrier 6 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on turf and carries 54kgs. He went a good race for second first-up, is improving and shapes as a top four proposition.

8.00 p.m. R9 15 Afalonhro  (5 g Lonhro - Armed for Action) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a3); drew barrier 1 of 14 in the $50,000 Class 4 1600 metres on turf and carries 56kgs. A last start winner however he sits at number one on the ballot - he can make his presence felt here if he gains a start.

8.30 p.m. R10 2 Sacred Gift  (5 g Zoustar - Calcatta) - Benny Woodworth; drew barrier 4 of 12 in the $70,000 Class 3 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 56kgs. The distance suits this five year old and if he can capitalise on the handy draw, he can make an impact - one of three Mark Walker starters.

8.30 p.m. R10 5 Street Cry Success (6 g Street Cry - Koala Bear) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a3); drew the outside barrier (12) in the $70,000 Class 3 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 52.5kgs. The second runner for the team, he will need a good dose of luck from his awkward draw (12).

8.30 p.m. R10 10 Magnum King  (5 g Written Tycoon - Brilliant Bisc) - Ryan Munger; drew barrier 9 of 12 in the $70,000 Class 3 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 54kgs. The final of the stable trio, he would be better placed in Class 4.

9.00 p.m. R11 14 Amazing Choice  (6 g Shocking - Choices Are) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a3); drew barrier 9 of 14 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 47kgs. He would be more competitive returning to Class 5.

9.00 p.m. R11 15 Elite Remarkable  (6 g Sebi Halo - Baaltis) - unfixed; drew the outside barrier (14) in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 56.5kgs. Ballot one, he is unlikely to gain a start.

10.00 p.m. R13 2 Elite Power  (6 g Sakhee's Secret - London Welsh) - Ruan Maia; drew barrier 6 of 12 in the $85,000 Class 2 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 55kgs. A very capable galloper, he is well positioned for a first four finish.

10.00 p.m. R13 5 Altair (5 g Zoustar - Rossarita) - Benny Woodworth; drew barrier 3 of 12 in the $85,000 Class 2 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 53kgs. While he disappointed first-up, he had an excuse with the wet track, and he can atone here with better conditions to suit.

10.00 p.m. R13 13 Red Rover  (6 g O'Reilly - Pin Up) - Ismail Saifudin; drew the outside barrier (12) in the $85,000 Class 2 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 50kgs. Ballot one, he is unlikely to make the field.
