Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview
18 July, 2021
Te Akau Singapore has 17 horses entered on Sunday 18 July at Kranji.
Currently second, Mark Walker was Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), and 2019, runner-up three times, third, and fourth, since Te Akau established its stable at Kranji in 2010.
4.30 p.m. R2 4 Red Rover (6 g O'Reilly - Pin Up) - Vlad Duric; drew outside barrier (12) in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 57kg. He cops a difficult draw (12), nevertheless he rates a top four chance with luck.
5.00 p.m. R3 12 Marcus Antonius (3 g Sepoy - Panda's Turn) - Oscar Chavez; drew barrier 12 of 14 in the $30,000 Class 5 2000 metres on turf and carries 52kg. This distance suits, but he too has a tough draw (12) to contend with and thus requires a good dose of luck.
5.30 p.m. R4 5 Inherit (5 g Pierro - In the Future) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a2); drew barrier 7 of 14 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 52.5kg. In good form, he is a first four proposition.
6.00 p.m. R5 4 Sportscaster (7 g Fastnet Rock - Gypsy Dancer) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 3 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 56.5kg. The first of a Mark Walker pair in this event, the distance will be short of his best, but he can still figure in the first five.
6.00 p.m. R5 8 Maximillian (5 g Highly Recommended - Annabel Rose) - Shafiq Rusof; drew barrier 5 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 55.5kg. Rider Shafiq Rusof was back in the winner's circle last weekend for his former master Mark Walker - another who will find this distance short of best, but he too still rates a top five chance.
6.30 p.m. R6 5 Mustengo (5 g Minstrel Court - Zabba) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a2); drew barrier 9 of 10 in the $50,000 Class 4 1600 metres on poly-track and carries 51kg. He looks a first five proposition with any luck from the tricky draw (9) - one of two lining up for the trainer.
6.30 p.m. R6 6 Sound the Siren (6 g Snitzel - Gussy Godiva) - CC Wong; drew barrier 6 of 10 in the $50,000 Class 4 1600 metres on poly-track and carries 52.5kg. He may require a drop to Class 5 to make his presence felt.
7.00 p.m. R7 2 Stenmark (3 g Medaglia d'Oro - Scandiva) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 2 of 12 in the $75,000 Novice 1400 metres on turf and carries 57kg. He was very good when second last start, he has secured a good draw (2) and rates a genuine winning chance with the champion rider aboard.
7.00 p.m. R7 9 King Arthur (3 g I Am Invincible - Pentasia) - Jerlyn Seow (a4); drew barrier 8 of 12 in the $75,000 Novice 1400 metres on turf and carries 50kg. He has an awkward draw (8) to overcome but he carries a light weight, and presents as a top four chance.
7.00 p.m. R7 11 Our Final Offer (3 g Deep Field - Egyptian Melody) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a2); drew outside barrier (12) in the $75,000 Novice 1400 metres on turf and carries 52kg. He has a tough draw (12) to navigate - one of three in the race for Mark Walker, he rates a place chance.
7.30 p.m. R8 7 Red Riding Wood (7 g Redwood - Dreamcatcher) - Jerlyn Seow (a4); drew barrier 4 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 52kg. He needs more distance.
8.00 p.m. R9 3 Sacred Rebel (6 g Sepoy - Pandoro De Lago) - Shafiq Rusof; drew barrier 10 of 13 in the $85,000 Class 2 1200 metres on turf and carries 55kg. He prefers the polytrack.
8.00 p.m. R9 11 Super Invincible(4 g I Am Invincible - Isstoora) - Harry Kasim; drew barrier 11 of 13 in the $85,000 Class 2 1200 metres on turf and carries 50kg. Like his stablemate, he would be better suited on the poly-track.
8.30 p.m. R10 2 Master Ryker (5 g Sebring - Hanky Panky) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 9 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 58.5kg. Unlucky last time, he rates a genuine winning chance - the first of a Mark Walker duo.
8.30 p.m. R10 7 What You Like (7 g Savabeel - Kinsella) - Jerlyn Seow (a4); drew barrier 7 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 49.5kg. He requires a drop to Class 5.
9.30 p.m. R12 3 Federation (5 g Written Tycoon - Bloomingdale Miss) - Jerlyn Seow (a4); drew outside barrier (12) in the $70,000 Class 3 1400 metres on turf and carries 52.5kg. He requires luck from a difficult draw (12).
