Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has 16 horses entered on Sunday 1 August at Kranji.

Currently second, Mark Walker was Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), and 2019, runner-up three times, third, and fourth, since Te Akau established its stable in 2010 at Kranji Racecourse.

5.00 p.m. R3 13 Afalonhro  (5 g Lonhro - Armed for Action) - unfixed; drew barrier 9 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on poly track and carries 58.5kgs. Ballot one, he is a top four chance if gains start.

5.00 p.m. R3 15 Doc Hudson  (6 g Commands - Millyet) - unfixed; drew barrier 4 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on poly track and carries 56kgs.  He too sits (number three) on the ballot, and is unlikely to gain start.

5.30 p.m. R4 13 Lady Roxanne  (3 f Darci Brahma - Kindred) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a2); drew barrier 12 of 14 in the $20,000 Maiden 1200 metres on turf and carries 54kg. It will be a tough assignment for this daughter of the multiple-time Singapore Champion Sire from the draw (12).

6.30 p.m. R6 9 Sportscaster (7 g Fastnet Rock - Gypsy Dancer) - Mohd Zaki; drew barrier 3 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1700 metres on poly-track and carries 53.5kg. Back to his favourite distance, he poses an each-way chance at odds.

6.30 p.m. R6 11 Red Riding Wood  (7 g Redwood - Dreamcatcher) - Jerlyn Seow (a4); drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1700 metres on poly-track and carries 49.5kg. He rates a light weight place chance from a very challenging draw.

6.30 p.m. R6 13 Accumulation  (6 g Rip Van Winkle - Vega Sicila) - unfixed; drew barrier 2 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1700 metres on poly-track and carries 50kg. Ballot one, he could be a top four chance if he gained start.

7.00 p.m. R7 3 Sacred Croix (6 g Savabeel - Croix Du Sud) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a2); drew barrier 5 of 10 in the $100,000 Kranji A 1200 metres on turf and carries 54.5kg. The son of the Champion NZ Sire, he trialled well and is capable of a first four finish in a strong field.

7.30 p.m. R8 4 Maximillian  (5 g Highly Recommended - Annabel Rose) - Vlad Duric; drew outside barrier (14) in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on turf and carries 56.5kg. With any luck in the running from the outside gate (14), he is capable of a first four performance.

8.00 p.m. R9 7 What You Like  (7 g Savabeel - Kinsella) - Jerlyn Seow (a4); drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 48.5kg. He requires a drop to Class 5 to show his best.

8.00 p.m. R9 15 Exdream  (5 g Dream Ahead - Sboog) - unfixed; drew barrier 4 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 56.5kg. Ballot three, he is unlikely to gain a start.

8.30 p.m. R10 3 Our Secret Weapon  (3 g Outreach - Poppy's Pond) - Jerlyn Seow (a4); drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 55kg. He is in good form and has the credentials to pay a dividend. However he is yet another who will need a good dose of luck from a nasty draw (11).

8.30 p.m. R10 13 Take A Chance  (3 g Star Witness - Hilylia) - unfixed; drew outside barrier (12) in the $30,000 Class 5 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 55.5k     g. Ballot one, he looks unlikely to gain a start.

8.30 p.m. R10 16 Wednesday  (3 g Super One - Shufetish) - unfixed; drew barrier 10 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 52.5kg. Also on the ballot (4), he too looks an highly unlikely participant.

9.00 p.m. R11 1 Augustano  (6 g Hardspun - Lady of Letters) - Jerlyn Seow (a4); drew outside barrier (13) in the $70,000 Class 3 1200 metres on the turf and carries 55kg. Back in class, but another with a nightmare alley (13) - he will need more than good luck to figure in the finish.

9.00 p.m. R11 4 I Am Sacred (4 g I Am Invincible - Such A Princess) - CC Wong; drew barrier 10 of 13 in the $70,000 Class 3 1200 metres on turf and carries 56.5kg. He ran a top race for second last start, and rates a top four contender with luck from yet another awkward draw (10).

9.00 p.m. R11 12 Silent Partner  (6 g Dandy Man - Dolce Dovo) - Harry Kasim; drew barrier 3 of 13 in the $70,000 Class 3 1200 metres on turf and carries 53.5kg. He requires drop to Class 4 to be seen at his most competitive.
