Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview
Te Akau horses racing at Kranji Racecourse in Singapore, where 2015 Trainers' Premiership winner Mark Walker again leads the Trainers' Premiership - now with 39 wins (a lead of three) since 1 January (as at 2.6.16).

Sunday 5 June

5.25 p.m. R2 6 BULLISH LUCK - Manuel Nunes; the first starter for the stable on Sunday draws handily (4) and carries 55kgs in the Class 5 sprint over 1000m on the Polytrack. Against a field of 12 runners, this distance will be too short at this time for the fresh runner as he builds up for a new prep. - a place chance.

5.55 p.m. R3 7 MOLLY BROWNE - Shafiq Rusof; the first of two stable runners in this field of 11 has drawn barrier eight and carries 56.5kgs. She needs to drop to Class 5 to be competitive.

5.55 p.m. R3 8 STAR GENIUS - Manuel Nunes; the second of the team in this Graduation SW 1400m on the short course A is a talented type, having won twice and been runner up twice from his last five appearances. He has drawn nicely at four, carries 55kgs and has hit great form since joining the stable - a top four chance.

6.25 p.m. R4 11 ZAC GALLANT- Manuel Nunes; he draws barrier eight in a field of 11 but carries just 53.5kgs in the Class 5 sprint over 1000m.  He faces a moderate field, looks well placed as top four chance against an average field.

6.55 p.m. R5 2 EATON'S GOLD - Manuel Nunes; draws well (2) in this Class 3 1100m on the poly and will carry 55.5kgs for the top rider.  One of two in the 12 strong field (with his stablemate however on the ballot), it's a tough assignment and he may need to drop back a Class to return to winning form - as we saw him when going back to back winning three and four starts ago.

6.55 p.m. R5 14 CLUTHA LAD - TBA; drawn barrier 13 and sits number two on the ballot, so will require two scratchings to get a start - unlikely to get a run.

8.25 p.m. R8 1 LADY IFFRAAJ - Y Salim (a4); a daughter of the very good mare Naturo, this filly has really settled well in Singapore and deserves to be again rewarded after finishing fourth at her last four starts.  With the apprentice claim she will carry 54kgs and has drawn barrier seven in this Kranji Stakes D SW over 1200m on the short course A (turf).  She is in good form and drops to an easier grade - a top four chance.

9.35 p.m. R10 3 COURT CASE - Shafiq Rusof; an average draw (7) in the field of 12 for the first of two mark Walker runners in this Class 4 1000m on the poly.  The last start winner will carry 55.5kgs for the former Te Akau champion apprentice.  He retains his forms and as such, presents as a top four chance.

9.35 p.m. R10 8 OUR TOUCHE - Oscar Chavez; the second of the Mark Walker duo has drawn 14 in the 12 horse affair so will likely jump from the widest gate with 54.5kgs on his back.  He will need a lot of luck as well a a possible drop back in grade to regain winning form.

10.05 p.m. R11 3 IKING - Y Salim (a4); the first of two for Mark Walker, he will drop to 54.5kgs with the apprentice allowance and has drawn the best of the duo (2).  With the claim he rates as a top five chance from the lovely draw.

10.05 p.m. R11 7 EN CIVIL - Manuel Nunes; the second in this Open Benchmark 67 and the final starter for Sunday - this in form horse has had five starts and has never been out of the money.  Drawn barrier six with 56kgs, his current form sees him well placed as a top four chance.
