Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has 18 horses entered on Sunday 8 August at Kranji.

Currently second, Mark Walker was Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), and 2019, runner-up three times, third, and fourth, since Te Akau established a stable in Singapore in 2010 at Kranji Racecourse.

4.00 p.m. R1 14 Lady Roxanne (4 m Darci Brahma - Kindred) - unfixed; drew barrier 9 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 53kg. She sits second on the ballot, so is unlikely to gain start.

4.30 p.m. R2 2 Take A Chance  (4 g Star Witness - Hilylia) - Shafiq Rusof; drew barrier 2 of 12 in the $20,000 Maiden 1000 metres on poly-track and carries 57.5kg. Three runners for the stable in this event, this 4YO needs to improve.

4.30 p.m. R2 7 Wednesday (4 g Super One - Shufetish) - C C Wong; drew barrier 3 of 12 in the $20,000 Maiden 1000 metres on poly-track and carries 57.5kg. The second of the stable runners rates a place chance.

4.30 p.m. R2 12 Qaidoom (3 g Noble Mission - Destiny Calls) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a2); drew barrier 4 of 12 in the $20,000 Maiden 1000 metres on poly-track and carries 51.5kg. The third starter for the debut is having his first start and on what we have seen to date, he rates a top three contender.

5.00 p.m. R3 3 Exdream (6 g Dream Ahead - Sboog) - Jerlyn Seow (a4); drew barrier 6 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 52.5kg.  In an even line-up, he can finish in the first four with the apprentice claim working to his advantage - the first of two in the race for Mark Walker.

5.00 p.m. R3 4 Doc Hudson  (7 g Commands - Millyet) - Shafiq Rusof; drew barrier 3 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 56kg. He is ideally drawn (3), and presents as an each-way chance at odds.

5.30 p.m. R4 11 Walim (3 g Tourist - I Be Me) - Shafiq Rusof; drew barrier 3 of 12 in the $20,000 Maiden 1400 metres on turf and carries 55kg. Another having his first start, he will improve for the experience.

6.00 p.m. R5 7 Hidden Promise  (9 g Postponed - Promissory) - Shafiq Rusof; drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on poly-track and carries 55.5kg. Another race and another duo entered for the trainer - the first is a last start winner.  He has drawn awkwardly (11) but still rates a top four chance.

6.00 p.m. R5 11 Lai Mak Mak  (10 g O'Reilly - Pretty) - Iskandar Rosman (a3); drew barrier 8 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on poly-track and carries 48.5kg. The stablemate of Hidden Promise, he is now an older horse who would be better in an easier field.

7.00 p.m. R7 4 Inherit (6 g Pierro - In the Future) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a2); drew barrier 8 of 9 in the $50,000 Class 4 1600 metres on turf and carries 52kg. He rates an each-way prospect at good odds.

7.30 p.m. R8 4 Red Riding Wood  (8 g Redwood - Dreamcatcher) - Jerlyn Seow (a4); drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on poly-track and carries 53.5kg. He has a tricky barrier (11) to negotiate, but he is enjoying good form and rates a top four chance.

7.30 p.m. R8 8 Maximillian  (6 g Highly Recommended - Annabel Rose) - Shafiq Rusof; drew barrier 4 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on poly-track and carries 56.5kg. He returns back to his preferred surface and distance, so looks to have first four claims.

7.30 p.m. R8 13 Accumulation  (7 g Rip Van Winkle - Vega Sicila) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a2); drew barrier 3 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on poly-track and carries 54.5kg. Ballot one, he is unlikely to gain start but could post a top three finish if he made the field.

8.00 p.m. R9 3 Axel  (6 g Darci Brahma - Josephines Fortune) - Jerlyn Seow (a4); drew barrier 1 of 9 in the $70,000 Kranji C 1600 metres on poly-track and carries 52.5kg. Mr Consistency, he requires drop to Class 4 to show his best - one of two ion the event for the stable.

8.00 p.m. R9 6 Sound the Siren (7 g Snitzel - Gussy Godiva) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a2); drew barrier 4 of 9 in the $70,000 Kranji C 1600 metres on poly-track and carries 51.5kg. This gelding was a good last start winner, but he meets a much tougher field here.

8.30 p.m. R10 1 Street Cry Success  (7 g Street Cry - Koala Bear) - Shafiq Rusof; drew barrier 4 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 59kg. Yet another race with two stable representatives, this 7YO comes in fresh-up, and has top four claims.

8.30 p.m. R10 9 Sacred Judgement  (6 g So You Think - Rose Ransom) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a2); drew outside barrier (12) in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 49.5kg. He has a very tough draw (12) to contend with and rates a place chance.

9.00 p.m. R11 1 Master Ryker  (5 g Sebring - Hanky Panky) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a2); drew barrier 5 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 56kg. He looks to be a top three contender based on his work.
