Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview


Te Akau Singapore has nine horses entered on Sunday 2 January at Kranji

Resident trainer Donna Logan takes over reins for Te Akau in Singapore, from this first meeting for new season, and Champion Trainer Mark Walker returns home to New Zealand to again lead the New Zealand stable.

Since Te Akau established its Singapore stable in 2010, Walker was Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021 with 66 wins, as well  as runner-up three times, third, and fourth.

 

5:30 p.m. R2 8 Jeram Gold (4 g Power - Duck for Cover) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 6 of 10 in $20,000 Maiden 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 54.5kg. Fresh-up, he will improve for the run.

6:00 p.m. R3 5 Exdream  (6 g Dream Ahead - Sboog) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 7 of 10 in $50,000 Class 4 1000 metres on poly-track and carries 50kg. Fresh-up, he too will improve for the run - one of two in the event for the stable.

6:00 p.m. R3 10 Elliot Ness  (4 g Written Tycoon - Walk With Attitude) - Jerlyn Seow (a3); drew barrier 8 of 10 in $50,000 Class 4 1000 metres on poly-track and carries 47.5kg. Visor on for today's assignment , he rates a top three chance with luck from an awkward draw (8).

6:30 p.m. R4 3 Rock N Roll (5 g El Roca - Lola Bettle) - Shafiq Rusof; drew barrier 10 of 11 in $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on poly-track and carries 58kg. He faces tough draw (10) which makes this a difficult ask.

7:00 p.m. R5 6 Gamely  (6 g Golden Archer - Tiny Temptress) - Simon Kok (a1); drew barrier 10 of 12 in $30,000 Class 5 1100 metres on poly-track carries 56kg. He has first four claims with any luck from his tricky gate (10).

7:30 p.m. R6 1 Axel  (6 g Darci Brahma - Josephines Fortune) - Jerlyn Seow (a3); drew barrier 8 of 11 in $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 55kg. While this distance short of his best, he will take improvement, and could run a cheeky top four.

8:00 p.m. R7 3 Foresto (7 g Excelebration - Swiss Current) - Jerlyn Seow (a3); drew barrier 6 of 12 in $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on poly-track and carries 55kg. Off scene for long time, he has been working well and has rough top four claims with the benefit of weight relief.

8:30 p.m. R8 7 Dragon Ryker  (4 g Cable Bay - Phoenix Clubs) - Harry Kasim; drew barrier 4 of 12 in $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on poly-track carries 55kg. He has been working well, has a good draw (4) and does possess top three prospects.

10:00 p.m. R11 3 King Arthur  (4 g I Am Invincible - Pentasia) - Shafiq Rusof; drew outside barrier (12) in $50,000 Class 4 1000 metres on poly-track and carries 56.5kg. A very good last start winner, he can finish in the top four is the Group 1 rider can navigate the tough barrier (12).
