Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has 13 horses entered on Saturday 18 June at Kranji.

Te Akau Singapore trainer Donna Logan is currently second on the premiership table. Training since 2018 in Singapore, Logan took over on 1 January from Mark Walker, who returned home to train the Te Akau team at Matamata.

Walker was Singapore Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021 with 66 wins, also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.

4:00 p.m. R1 2 Elliot Ness (4 g Written Tycoon - Walk With Attitude) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 8 of 10 in $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 56kg. He drops back to Class 5 here, looks ready to run a big race and he rates a top three chance.

5:30 p.m. R4 7 Eagle Eye (7 g Pure Prize - Miss Tessi) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a1); drew barrier 3 of 12 in $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 53.5kg. Ideally drawn (3), he has first four claims.

6:00 p.m. R5 6 God's Gift (5 g Haradasun - Criquette) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 5 of 12 in $30,000 Class 5 1700 metres on poly-track and carries 52.5kg. He has recorded two thirds since winning, he should settle midfield and looks a top three prospect.

6:00 p.m. R5 14 Foresto (7 g Excelebration - Swiss Current) - unfixed; drew barrier 4 of 12 in $30,000 Class 5 1700 metres on poly-track and carries 50kg. Ballot two, he is unlikely to gain a start.

7:00 p.m. R7 3 Flashfast (3 g Dream Ahead - Ohmygod) - Jake Bayliss; drew barrier 1 of 11 in $75,000 Novice 1400 metres on turf and carries 56kg. He was an easy winner last start over 1600 metres and he presents as a top three chance.

7:30 p.m. R8 15 Sunday (4 g Delago Deluxe - Gentle) - unfixed; drew barrier 1 of 12 in $30,000 Class 5 1400 metres on turf and carries 53kg. Ballot three, he is unlikely to gain a start.

8:30 p.m. R10 4 King Arthur (4 g I Am Invincible - Pentasia) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 3 of 9 in $85,000 Class 2 1200 metres on turf and carries 49.5kg. While he does not possess much form on the turf, he has measured up in Class 2 and looks a top four chance - the first of two Fortuna starters in the event.

8:30 p.m. R10 7 Hadeer (6 g Savabeel - A Real Princess) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a1); drew barrier 6 of 9 in $85,000 Class 2 1200 metres on turf and carries 49kg. He brings good course/distance stats into play, but does face a tough field. However he rates a top four chance with a light weight.

9:00 p.m. R11 8 Deception (3 g I Am Invincible - Friday Hussy) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a1); drew barrier 10 of 11 in $110,000 Singapore Three-Year-Old Sprint (Gr. 3, 1200m) on turf and carries 56kg. He meets hot field, but deserves a crack in the Group 3 - he has good form, was unlucky last start, and he can deliver a first four finish with luck from tricky draw (10) - one of two in the event for Te Akau Racing.

9:00 p.m. R11 9 Montana Flash (3 g Star Turn - Dukemore) - Danny Beasley; drew barrier 8 of 11 in $110,000 Singapore Three-Year-Old Sprint (Gr. 3, 1200m) on turf and carries 57kg. He put up a huge effort last start, he should appreciate turf and he rates an upset chance in the feature.

9:35 p.m. R12 2 Entertainer (5 g Zoustar - Laughing) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 3 of 12 in $70,000 Class 3 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 56kg. Ten starts for seven wins at the distance, he drops to Class 3 and can make his presence felt at the finish - one of two in the event for trainer Donna Logan.

9:35 p.m. R12 10 Brutus (5 g Rubick - Harvest Queen) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a1); drew barrier 5 of 12 in $70,000 Class 3 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 53.5kg. A winner on the poly-track, he rates one for longer odds.

9:35 p.m. R12 16 Reignite (4 g Sebring - Risk Aversion) - unfixed; drew outside barrier (12) in $70,000 Class 3 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 53.5kg. Ballot four, he is unlikely to gain a start.
