Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has 12 horses entered on Sunday 26 June at Kranji.

Te Akau trainer Donna Logan is currently second on the Trainers' Premiership table.

Training since 2018 in Singapore, Logan took over on 1 January from Mark Walker, who returned home to train the Te Akau team at Matamata.

Walker was Singapore Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021 with 66 wins, also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.

4:00 p.m. R1 5 Super Posh (6 g Super Easy - Posh Bec) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 2 of 11 in $30,000 Class 5 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 55.5kg. Ideally drawn (2), he has placed twice at the distance, and has rough top four claims.

4:30 p.m. R2 1 Charminton (3 g Charm Spirit - Sarzana) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 1 of 8 in $75,000 Restricted Maiden 1200 metres on turf and carries 54kg. He posted an impressive first start second in Singapore, has weight relief, has drawn barrier one, and rates a top three chance - one of two in the event for the stable.

4:30 p.m. R2 2 Trident (3 g Deep Field - Miss Fi) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a1); drew barrier 3 of 8 in $75,000 Restricted Maiden 1200 metres on turf and carries 56kg. He had three good runs in New Zealand and makes his debut in Singapore, has trialled well and rates a top four chance.

5:30 p.m. R4 6 Champagne Finale (6 g All Too Hard - Grande Annee) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 11 of 12 in $50,000 Class 4 1600 metres on turf and carries 48.5kg. He has a wide draw (11) to contend with, so plans to go forward - he has first four claims especially if it rains.

6:00 p.m. R5 2 Rahotu (5 g Invincible Spirit - Insoumise) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a1); drew barrier 8 of 11 in $20,000 Maiden 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 57kg. He has a gear change and presents as a top four prospect.

6:30 p.m. R6 9 Foresto (7 g Excelebration - Swiss Current) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 6 of 11 in $30,000 Class 5 2000 metres on turf and carries 48kg. A staying type, he is booked to do his future racing in Malaysia.

7:00 p.m. R7 2 Eastiger (7 g Magic Albert - Quite Astute) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a1); drew barrier 9 of 11 in $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on turf and carries 57.5kg.  He has been racing well, possesses good course/distance stats, and is good winning chance with any luck from his awkward draw (9).

7:30 p.m. R8 4 Stenmark (4 g Medaglia d'Oro - Scandiva) - Hakim Kamaruddn (a1); drew barrier 9 of 12 in $70,000 Class 3 1400 metres on turf and carries 55.5kg. He has won his last two starts stylishly and rises in grade but he is expected to measure up and presents as a top three chance with luck from his tricky draw (9) - one of two in the event, both syndicated from our NZ stable.

7:30 p.m. R8 12 Reignite (4 g Sebring - Risk Aversion) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 6 of 12 in $70,000 Class 3 1400 metres on turf and carries 50.5kg. He posted good sectionals last start and has the ability to finish in the first four.

8:00 p.m. R9 5 Our Secret Weapon (4 g Outreach - Poppy's Pond) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew outside barrier (10) in $30,000 Class 5 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 54.5kg. He delivered a nice last start win from the outside gate over 1000 metres, has placed over 1100 metres, brings great form and rates top three contender. He is another horse syndicated by our NZ stable.

8:30 p.m. R10 10 Super Impact (4 g Real Impact - Trick) - Jake Bayliss; drew barrier 8 of 12 in $150,000 Stewards' Cup (Gr. 2, 1600m) on turf and carries 57kg. He was tightened for room when sixth in his Singapore debut and meets very good field, however the distance suits and expecting a strong finish in preparation for the Singapore Derby (Gr. 1, 1800m).

9:05 p.m. R11 6 Legacy Fortune (3 g Dragon Pulse - Gold Zain) - Jake Bayliss; drew barrier 10 of 12 in $50,000 Class 4 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 55.5kg. He is a top four proposition with some luck from his tricky draw (10).
