Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has six horses entered on Sunday 17 July at Kranji.

Te Akau trainer Donna Logan is currently second on the premiership table.  Training since 2018 in Singapore, Logan took over on 1 January from Mark Walker, who returned home to train the Te Akau team at Matamata.

Walker was Singapore Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021 with 66 wins, also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.

4:30 p.m. R2 1 Sunday (4 g Delago Deluxe - Gentle) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 3 of 8 in $30,000 Class 5 1400 metres on turf and carries 59kg. No stats on (short) course, so rough top four prospects.

5:00 p.m. R3 2 Rahotu (5 g Invincible Spirit - Insoumise) - Jake Bayliss; drew barrier 8 of 10 in $20,000 Maiden 1200 metres on turf and carries 57.5kg. Senior rider aboard, but he needs to improve.

5:30 p.m. R4 5 Charminton (3 g Charm Spirit - Sarzana) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 7 of 8 in $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 51kg. Steps up to Class 4 and rates a winning chance.

7:00 p.m. R7 7 Champagne Finale (6 g All Too Hard - Grande Annee) - Harry Kasim; drew barrier 4 of 9 in $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 50.5kg. Really good course/distance stats, he rates top four if it rains.

8:00 p.m. R9 6 King Arthur (4 g I Am Invincible - Pentasia) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 7 of 8 in $100,000 Class 1 1200 metres on turf and carries 51kg. Impressive winning last start on turf in quick time (1:08.6), hard to beat with weight relief and he certainly rates a top three chance.

9:00 p.m. R11 8 Super Impact (4 g Real Impact - Trick) - Jake Bayliss; drew barrier 1 of 10 in $400,000 Singapore Derby (Gr. 1, 1800m) on turf and carries 57kg. Has been set for this race, hoping to see big improvement, blinkers on have sharpened him up and he rates a top four chance.
