Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview
12 March, 2023
Te Akau Singapore has nine horses entered on Sunday 12 March at Kranji.
Te Akau Singapore trainer Donna Logan ended her first season finishing second in the premiership. Training since 2018 in Singapore, Logan took over from Mark Walker on 1 January 2022.
Walker was Singapore Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021, also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.
6:00 p.m. R3 6 Elliot Ness (5 g Written Tycoon - Walk With Attitude) - Fadzli Yusoff (a2); he drew barrier 8 of 9 in the $50,000 Class 4 1100 metres on the poly-track and carries feather-weight of 49.5kg. Fresh-up, he requires luck from the tricky draw (8), and is not far away in ratings for the drop to Class 5 where he will be more competitive.
6:30 p.m. R4 8 God's Gift (6 g Haradasun - Criquette) - Fadzli Yusoff (a2); he drew barrier 8 of 11 in the $30,000 Class 5 1800 metres on the turf and carries 53kg. He is enjoying good form, the distant suits and he consistently races well.
7:00 p.m. R5 2 Super Posh (7 g Super Easy - Posh Bec) - Jamil Sarwi (a4); he drew barrier 7 of 8 in the $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on the poly-track and carries 55kg. He rates a top four chance with any luck from barrier seven.
7:30 p.m. R6 7 Briggs (4 g Rubick - High Ace) - Michael Kellady; he drew barrier 1 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1000 metres on the poly-track and carries 53kg. He comes in fresh-up and is set to take improvement from this resuming outing.
8:00 p.m. R7 8 Charmshaab (3 g Charm Spirit - Sehaab) - Fadzli Yusoff (a2); he drew barrier 4 of 10 in the $20,000 Maiden 1600 metres on the turf and carries 53kg. He rates a top four chance from a handy gate.
9:00 p.m. R9 3 Rahotu (6 g Invincible Spirit - Insoumise) - Saleh Shafrizal (a1); he drew barrier 4 of 9 in the $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on the poly-track and carries 57kg. He is another that comes in fresh-up and looks set to take improvement from this first run of his new prep.
10:00 p.m. R11 9 Entertainer (6 g Zoustar - Laughing) - Jamil Sarwi (a4); he drew barrier 2 of 12 in the $85,000 Class 2 1100m on the poly-track and carries 46kg. Ideally drawn (2), he meets a hot field, carries a light weight, and has first four claims.
10:30 p.m. R12 6 Charminton (4 g Charm Spirit - Sarzana) - Fadzli Yusoff (a2); he drew barrier 5 of 11 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the turf and carries 54.5kg. He should receive a good trip from barrier five and is capable of improving second-up.
10:30 p.m. R12 9 Fadaboy (4 g Deep Field - Ezee Ezee) - Simon Kok (a1); he drew barrier 9 of 11 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the turf and carries 52kg. A course/distance winner last season, he is capable of a first four finish but will need everything to go his was from his wide barrier (9).
