Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview
Date: 11 Jun 2023
Te Akau Singapore has 11 horses entered Sunday 11 June at Kranji.
Te Akau Singapore trainer Donna Logan ended her first season finishing second in the premiership, and currently fifth. Training since 2018 in Singapore, Logan took over from Mark Walker on 1 January 2022.
Walker was Singapore Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021, also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.
4:30 p.m. R2 6 Popeyethesailorman (3 g Reward for Effort - Fudge Delight) - Louis Beuzelin; he drew barrier 9 of 14 in the $75,000 Restricted Maiden 1200 metres on the turf and carries 57kg. It's tricky to assess the form with newcomers in the race, but he seems capable of racing well again.
5:00 p.m. R3 1 Aftermath (5 g Spirit of Boom - Elusive Gift) - Yusoff Fadzli (a2); he drew barrier 5 of 14 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the turf and carries 55.5kg. His saddled shifted last start so he had some excause, and as a positive, he does possess a good course/distance record - one of two in the event for our stable.
5:00 p.m. R3 12 Fadaboy (4 g Deep Field - Ezee Ezee) - Jamil Sarwi (a4); he drew barrier 13 of 14 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the turf and carries 47kg. While he does carry a light weight, he requires luck from the wide draw (13).
5:30 p.m. R4 8 God's Gift (6 g Haradasun - Criquette) - Yusoff Fadzli (a2); he drew barrier 1 of 9 in the $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on the turf and carries 54kg. A last start winner from barrier one, he remains in the same grade and rates a top four chance.
6:30 p.m. R6 3 Te Akau Ben (5 g Tavistock - Danalaga) - Yusoff Fadzli (a2); he drew barrier 1 of 14 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on the turf and carries 56kg. He won impressively last start from barrier one and rates a top three prospect from the same gate - one of two in the event for Te Akau.
6:30 p.m. R6 12 Montana Flash (4 g Star Turn - Dukemore) - Louis Beuzelin; he drew the outside barrier (14) in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on the turf and carries 52.5kg. He is a smart horse but he requires everything to go his way from the outside gate (14).
7:00 p.m. R7 5 Mystery Power (6 g No Nay Never - Gems) - Saleh Shafrizal (a1); he drew barrier 4 of 9 in the $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on the turf and carries 53.5kg. He has been clocking good sectionals, and has the ability to rate a top four chance.
7:30 p.m. R8 3 Axel (7 g Darci Brahma - Josephines Fortune) - Marc Lerner; he drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1600 metres on the turf and carries 56kg. He posted a huge run last start for fourth and can be expected to be running home strongly - the first of a stable duo competing in this event.
7:30 p.m. R8 8 Ahorsewithnoname (4 m Adelaide - Me No Marsh Potato) - Louis Beuzelin; she drew barrier 3 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1600 metres on the turf and carries 54.5kg. She performed well last start and she is capable of a podium finish.
8:00 p.m. R9 8 Diamond Ring (6 g Super Easy - Donna Marie) - Ronnie Stewart; he drew the outside barrier (14) in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the turf and carries 52kg. He requires plenty of luck from his wide draw (14).
9:00 p.m. R11 6 Trident (4 g Deep Field - Miss Fi) - Benny Woodworth; he drew barrier 1 of 8 in the $110,000 Silver Bowl (Gr. 3, 1400m) on the turf and carries 57kg. With two strong efforts recently, including a record of three wins at this distance, he has first four claims.
