Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has five horses entered on Sunday 17 March at Kranji.

5:00 p.m. R1 3 Rhett Butler (3 g Charm Spirit – Thurlow) – Jamil Sarwi (a3); he drew barrier 6 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 56kg. He drops in class for this assignment and is capable of proving competitive.

5:00 p.m. R1 15 Red Maned (5 m Burgundy – Imagunakepa) – unfixed; she drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 54kg. Sitting at three on the ballot, she is unlikely to gain a start.

9:30 p.m. R10 2 Axel (8 g Darci Brahma – Josephines Fortune) – Fadzli Yusoff (a2); he drew the outside barrier (13) in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on the turf and carries 56kg. A recent winner, five of seven of his wins have come on the (long) course, but he requires luck from his wide draw (13) - one of two lining up for the stable.

9:30 p.m. R10 6 Te Akau Ben (6 g Tavistock – Danalaga) – Ivan Espindola; he drew barrier 3 of 13 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on the turf and carries 53kg. He improved to finish third last start, and meets a competitive field, however he has top four credentials.

10:00 p.m. R11 9 Fadaboy (5 g Deep Field – Ezee Ezee) – Carlos Henrique; he drew barrier 2 of 11 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 50.5kg. While he has been disappointing of late, he does prefer racing on the poly track.
