Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has five horses entered on Sunday 30 June at Kranji.

4:30 p.m. R1 4 Aftermath (6 g Spirit of Boom – Elusive Gift) – Carlos Henrique; he drew barrier 5 of 10 in the S$30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the turf and carries 58kg. One of two in the race for the team, he missed the start when dropping back to Class 5 last time presented, the 1200 metres suits, and with a clean getaway, he is ideally drawn (4) to have first four claims.

4:30 p.m. R1 7 Gun (3 g Extreme Choice – Myrtle Turtle) – Jamil Sarwi (a3); he drew barrier 9 of 10 in the S$30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the turf and carries 54kg. He possesses a good course/distance record, is aided by the apprentice weight relief, and rates a place chance if he can secure a good passage from the awkward gate.

7:00 p.m. R6 4 Knippenberg (4 g I Am Invincible – Red Fez) – Bernardo Pinheiro; he drew barrier 2 of 9 in the S$70,000 Class 3 1200 metres on the turf and carries 56kg. Resuming here, he does meet a strong field, however he has shown the ability to act well when in a fresh state. One of two in the event for the stable, he rates a top four chance.

7:00 p.m. R6 9 Stenmark (6 g Medaglia d’Oro – Scandiva) – Jamil Sarwi (a3); he drew barrier 4 of 9 in also in the S$70,000 Class 3 1200 metres on the turf and carries just 50.5kg. He has a solid course/distance record, has the benefit of the apprentice weight relief, is getting close to a drop back in class and will be better suited there.

8:00 p.m. R8 12 Charminton (5 g Charm Spirit – Sarzana) – Carlos Henrique; he drew barrier 12 of 14 in the S$50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 53kg. He had nothing go right for him from a wide gate last start and faces the similar challenge here from barrier 12.
