Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview
7 July, 2024
Te Akau Singapore has five horses entered on Sunday 7 July at Kranji.
4:30 p.m. R1 9 Rhett Butler (3 g Charm Spirit – Thurlow) – Darren Danis (a1); he drew barrier 3 of 12 in the S$30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 55kg. He has been finishing off better with blinkers on and presents as a place chance at value.
5:30 p.m. R3 6 Contarelli (4 g Caravaggio – Dark And Stormy) – Carlos Henrique; he drew barrier 3 of 8 in the S$30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on the poly track and carries 57kg. He went a better race last time when making good headway and finds the opportunity here to improve further.
8:30 p.m. R9 1 Axel (8 g Darci Brahma – Josephines Fortune) – Jamil Sarwi (a3); he drew barrier 4 of 13 in the S$50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on the turf and carries 55kg. It was great to see him record his 11th win last start, there is good form from that race, he's a recent trial winner, and he has definite first four claims.
9:00 p.m. R10 11 Santino (3 g Santos – Mercy’s Choice) – Carlos Henrique; he drew barrier 8 of 12 in the S$50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 51.5kg. He is suited with the drop back in class and also the poly track surface, and is presented with the opportunity to race well.
9:00 p.m. R10 13 Otahuhu (4 g Overshare – O’Reilly Miracle) – Jamil Sarwi (a3); he drew barrier 7 of 12 also in the S$50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 49.5kg. He however is number one on the ballot, and is unlikely to make the field.
