Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has two horses entered on Sunday 4 August at Kranji.

With the Singapore government's decision to cease all racing from early October, only two months of the final season remain - a season also cut short by almost three months.  You will see fewer Te Akau runners due to the fact an orderly retirement or sale of every horse based in Singapore is currently underway.

With a proud history of over 100 years of racing in Singapore, it a hugely sad time for everyone involved in the industry.

7:30 p.m. R7 2 Otahuhu (4 g Overshare – O’Reilly Miracle) – Awa Chong (a4); he drew barrier 8 of 12 in the S$30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 55kg.He drops back from Class 4 to Class 5 which aids his chances. He enjoys apprentice weight relief, has won on the course and over this distance when last in this grade, and has the opportunity to race well with luck in running from the tricky barrier.

9:00 p.m. R10 8 Rocky (5 g El Roca – Anthology) – Carlos Henrique; he drew barrier 6 of 10 in the A$50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 52kg. He has had one trial leading into this fresh-up run, from which his fitness should improve, and he will be more competitive once he steps up in distance.
