Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview
Te Akau horses racing at Kranji Racecourse in Singapore, where 2015 Trainers' Premiership winner Mark Walker lies third on the Trainers' Premiership - now with 59 wins since 1 January.

Sunday 16 October

5.40 p.m. R1 1 NORTHERN KNIGHT - Manuel Nunes; the Mark Walker stable dominates the first, the Kranji Stakes D SW 1600m on the turf short course C, lining up three of the 12 starters.  Unfortunately the first runner has drawn 11 and carries the joint top-weight of 58kgs for the Raffles Racing team who tasted continued success with Viviano last weekend.  He is in good form but has to navigate the tricky draw - a top four chance.

5.40 p.m. R1 2 VALUE OF JUSTICE - App R Zawari (a2); the second stable rep. draws much better (4) but is also carded with 58kgs, however will carry 56kgs with the apprentice claim.  He has shown little to date since arriving in Singapore and needs to improve.

5.40 p.m. R1 6 STAR STRIKE - Shafiq Rizuan; the last of the Mark Walker trio jumps from the ace draw and again carries 58kgs.  A son of Sakhee's Secret, he is getting close to running in the money - a top four chance,

6.10 p.m. R2 3 JACK'S SECRET - Shafiq Rizuan; two line up for the stable in the second event, the S$65,000 Initiation 4YO+Below 1100m on the polytrack.  The first is another by Sakhee's Secret and is on debut tonight, drawing well (2) and carrying 57.5kgs.  He is a lovely big horse - a top four chance.

6.10 p.m. R2 8 ELHAAME - Oscar Chavez; the second for the stable is having just his second start and also draws well enough (6) in this field of 12 but carries a nice lightweight of 52kgs for his second appearance.  He went a nice race first up and blinkers/pacifiers go on  a top four chance.

7.10 p.m. R4 1 NAZIR - App Z Syed (a4); included in the ownership of this runner in the Class 4 1200m on the turf short course C, is the famous racing personality and owner Dato Tan Chin Nam. Tonight he has the advantage of the coveted ace draw and, with the benefit of the apprentice allowance, will carry 54.5kgs in field of 10.  His form has really come solid of late with a third and runner placing from his last two - he has been in good form and is fresh up over 1200m but will improve once he gets up over more distance.

8.10 p.m. R6 1 EATON'S GOLD - Shafiq Rizuan; in this field of 10 only, Mark Walker has a strong hand to play with three stable runners - the first put in a good effort for second last time.  A veteran Kranji performer, he draws barrier six and carries top-weight of 58kgs in the Open Benchmark 67 1000m on the polytrack - a top four chance in an even field.

8.10 p.m. R6 3 CHAMPAGNE REIN - Alan Munro; the “second leg” of our stable trio has drawn gate nine and carries 56.5kgs.  He been a touch disappointing at his last couple of starts - with a wide draw, we will look to change riding tactics and ride him back, seeing if he runs on.

8.10 p.m. R6 7 PURE JUSTICE - Vlad Duric; the “third leg” of our stable trio has drawn the ace and is weighted with 55kgs.  He too has been a touch disappointing in Singapore but with a good gate and an experienced rider, improvement is hoped for.

10.25 p.m. R10 1 MOMENT OF JUSTICE - Manuel Nunes; again another three pronged attack for for the stable in the Kranji Stakes D SW 1600m on the turf short course C. The first will be ridden by the leading rider and is in terrific form, a last start winner.  He draws well (2) for tonight's assignment and will carry 58kgs.  He is doing everything well - a top four chance in an even field.

10.25 p.m. R10 3 ASPEN - App R Zawari (a2); the second stable runner has drawn out (10 of 13) and with the claim, drops to 56kgs.  On a relatively quick back-up, he does need rain to show his best.

10.25 p.m. R10 5 BRAHMS AND LISZT - Shafiq Rizuan; the final starter for the stable in this event has drawn out even further than the aforementioned stablemate (11) and carries 58kgs.  He is a tough old campaigner and was very unlucky not to win last weekend - a top four chance.

10.55 p.m. R11 2 AHMAR - Shafiq Rizuan - the second stable runner draws one from the outside (9) and is carded to carry 56kgs in the S$60,000 event.  He will improve once he gets over more distance.
