Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview
Te Akau horses racing at Kranji Racecourse in Singapore, where 2015 Trainers' Premiership winner Mark Walker lies third on the Trainers' Premiership - now with 64 wins since 1 January.

Sunday 6 November

6.20 p.m. R2 5 PRINCE DARCI - Manuel Nunes; starts the day's racing off for the team drawing barrier eight a field of eight for this Restricted Maiden 2&3YO WFA 1200m on the turf long course D.  Carrying 57kgs in this S$75,000 event, he and his stablemate below who also contests this race are both sons of David Ellis purchased, Mark Walker trained sire Darci Brahma who has been the champion sire of Singapore on no fewer than three occasions.  He disappointed first up in Singapore but we think he will prefer the turf - a top four chance.

6.20 p.m. R2 6 Q NINE MILLION - S John; has had a sound start with his racing career in Singapore with two good thirds placings from his two appearances to date.  Today he has drawn perfectly (1) and will carry 57kgs - he has gone two very nice races and this will be his final start for the season before he has a break - a top four chance.

7.50 p.m. R5 4 PURE JUSTICE - Manuel Nunes; with 57kgs, the champion jockey rides from gate 10 of 11, continuing the frustration of wide draws this weekend.  In this Class 4 over 1000m on the polytrack, he put in a much improved performance for a last start fourth - he is improving all the time but may require an easier grade.

8.25 p.m. R6 11 DOUBLE JEOPARDY - App CK Ng (a3); has drawn 12 of 12 in the Class 5 1800m on the turf long course D and with the apprentice claim, will carry only 47kgs.  This will be his final start in Singapore before continuing his racing career in Malaysia.

9.25 p.m. R8 3 STORM TROOPER - App Z Syed (a4); maximum claim for the first of two runners for Mark Walker in this S$60,000 Class 4 1400m o the turf long course D. This son of Tavistock has unfortunately drawn 11 of 12 but with the allowance will only have to carry 52kgs.  A very honest horse, he just needs a wet track to really show his best form.  It has been quite wet in Singapore lately and if that happens again - with rain, a top four chance.

9.25 p.m. R8 6 ASPREY - Manuel Nunes; gets the opposite draw to his aforementioned stablemate, jumping from the inside barrier and carrying 54.5kgs.  He has had a frustrating season in many ways being relegated but plenty of placings - a top four chance in this field.

10.00 p.m. R9 5 IKING - Manuel Nunes; in this S$80,000 Class 3 1400m on the turf long course D, he has drawn 12 of 12 (yes an evening of those draws) and carries 53.5kgs.  He is a grand old campaigner but might need to get back to Class 4

10.35 p.m. R10 A NORTHERN KNIGHT - Manuel Nunes; has been in super form for the Raffles' Racing team, culminating in a well deserved last start win.  He does thus carry the top weight of 57kgs but has a handy draw (4) in this 10-strong Class 4 line-up over the mile on the turf long course D.  He has enjoyed a good first prep. and this will be his final start for the season - a top four chance.

11.05 p.m. R11 6 EN CIVIL - Manuel Nunes; in this field of 12, Mark Walker has a strong hand to play with his two stable runners - the first in the Class 4 1400m on the turf long course D has the top rider and carries 55kgs, jumping from barrier seven.  He has been in consistent form and is getting close to a win - top four chance.

11.05 p.m. R11 11 Q NINE MAGIC - App CK Ng (a3); the “second leg” of our stable double has drawn gate nine and carries only 47.5kgs with the claimer aboard. The winner of two of his last three starts, he has been consistent all season and deserved that reward.  Back in Class 4 however, he will find this competition a bit tougher.
