Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview

The 2015 Champion Singapore Trainer and Trainers' Premiership winner, the Akau's Mark Walker (who finished third on the 2016 Trainers' Premiership) has trained 19 winners this season and currently leads the Trainers' Premiership.

6.10 p.m. R2 4 LIMS SIGNATURE - Vlad Duric; two in the second of the day for Te Akau trainer Mark Walker, the Restricted Maiden 2&3YO WFA 1000m on the polytrack. Nicely drawn at three, carrying 57kgs - he needs to improve.

6.10 p.m. R2 8 OBSTACLES FREE - Shafiq Rizuan; the second for Mark Walker has drawn gate eight in this field of 12 and will carry 57kgs. This son of Coats Choice is a nice horse on debut but the number one here looks very hard to beat.

6.40 p.m. R3 4 MAJOR TOM - Shafiq Rizuan; this promising galloper has drawn six of 12 for his Novice SW 1400m assignment on the turf long course B where he will carry 55kgs. Interestingly enough, his one year older brother lines up in the following event. He is in good form - a top four chance.

7.10 p.m. R4 2 JACK'S SECRET - Shafiq Rizuan; Major Tom's brother lines up in the Initiation 4YO+Below WFA 1400m also on the turf long course B where he jumps from barrier eight in the field of 11 starters, carrying 58kgs. This 4YO has a sold (5-6-4-2) form line and while 1400m might be a touch short, he rates a good each way chance at odds.

7.40 p.m. R5 4 CLUTHA LAD - Gerald Mosse; a field of 11 runners and two from the stable for the Class 5 1800m on the polytrack. This 7YO son of Thorn Park has drawn out at 10 and carries 56kgs. He is a senior now but in good form - top five chance.

7.40 p.m. R5 8 CLERMONT CLUB - N Juglall; another with good form on the board (3-4-0-3-4) who should prove competitive in this Class 5 event where he draws gate eight and is weighted with just 50.5kgs. He is a dangerous lightweight chance here.

8.10 p.m. R6 1 QINGDAO - Gerald Mosse; the stable is dominant in this Maiden 1200m on the turf long course B with a three pronged attack. The first runner will jump from gate eight and carries the top weight of 59kgs. He went a nice race on debut for 4th, having his second start here and is an improver.

8.10 p.m. R6 3 SHE'S THE ONE - I Azahar; the second stable representative draws best of the trio (4) and carries 56kgs. She needs rain to make her presence felt.

8.10 p.m. R6 6 PRINCE DARCI - Shafiq Rizuan; the final starter in this for Mark Walker draws five and carries 53.5kgs. A son of Singapore champion sire Darci Brahma, he needs to improve.

8.45 p.m. R7 1 VIVIANO - Shafiq Rizuan; this talented galloper owned by Raffles Dancers competes in the Open benchmark 83 1200m on the turf long course B where he has drawn seven of only nine runners and will carry 57kgs for this S$100,000 assignment. His form line brings confidence (1-4-6-1-4) however he strikes a tough contest here but always a chance - each way.

9.50 p.m. R9 3 NAZIR -Gerald Mosse; he carries the famous racing colours of Dato Tan Chin Nam in this Kranji Stakes C SW 1600m on the turf long course B. Drawn sweetly (3 of 13), he will carry 58kgs in the S$80,000 event. The 5YO comes off the back of a good last start win but this is a tougher field - each way chance.

11.25 p.m. R10 6 LIMS SHOT - Danny Beasley; the final runner for the team tonight jumps from barrier five join the 12-strong field for the Class 4 1100m on the polytrack. With 55kgs on his back, he disappointed last time and the tongue-tie goes on - an each way chance.
