Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview

Te Akau horses racing at Kranji Racecourse in Singapore, where 2015 Premiership winning trainer Mark Walker leads the 2017 Trainers' Premiership with 35 wins since 1 January - including a treble last Sunday.

4.40 p.m. R1 3 LIM'S SIGNATURE - Danny Beasley; one of two to start off the night for Mark Walker in this Class 5 1200m on the turf long course C where he draws the ace and carries 57kgs for the international rider.  A 3YO son of Swiss Ace, he is improving all the time - a top four chance.

4.40 p.m. R1 13 VRAAD - App CK Ng (a3); the second for the stable draws 8 of 13 and with the claim, will carry 52.5kgs.  This 4YO son of Volksraad is Malaysia bound for his future racing.

5.10 p.m. R2 8 BIG REGARDS - Vlad Duric; in this Open Maiden WFA 1100m on the polytrack, the son of Darci Brahma draws midfield (6 of 12) and will carry 56kgs.  With three fifth placings from his last three appearances, he has been freshened up - a top five chance.

5.40 p.m. R3 1 AHMAR - App Z Syed (a4); jumping from barrier five in this 10 horse field for the Class 4 1200m on the turf long course C, he carries 54.5kgs with the apprentice aboard.  With a recent form line of 5-2-3-2-1 - his last start winning effort is encouraging form for this but this is a stronger field - top four chance.

7.10 p.m. R6 1 BRAHMS AND LISZT - Vlad Duric; senior rider atop of a senior horse that has now earned S$228,548 from his 45 Kranji appearances.  Tonight he draws seven of 13 for the Class 5 1200m on the turf long course C and is weighted with 57kgs.  The 7YO faces a weaker field before heading to Malaysia for future racing next week.

7.45 p.m. R7 5 GANNET - Manuel Nunes; the top rider jumps aboard in the Class 4 1700m on the polytrack where he draws eight of 12 starters and carries just 53.5kgs.  He is slowly improving.

9.25 p.m. R10 1 CHAMPAGNE REIN - Vlad Duric; draws eight of 12 runners for this Class 4 1000m on the polytrack where he carries 58.5kgs.  The 5YO has been going solid races (6-2-5-4) without breaking through and he has been a touch unlucky and gets his chance here in a moderate field.

9.55 p.m. R11 4 NORTHERN KNIGHT - App R Zawari (a2); this in form horse for Raffles Racing takes his place in the Class 4 1200m on the turf long course C, drawing barrier three and 11 starters and weighted with 56kgs thanks to the apprentice claim.  With a last prep. record of 4-3-2-1-5, he raced in great heart and resumes here tonight over a distance short of his best.
