Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has nine horses entered on Sunday 17 December at Kranji.

5:45 p.m. R1 1 Our Secret Weapon (6 g Outreach – Poppy’s Pond) – Yusoff Fadzli (a2); he drew barrier 9 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 56.5kg. All five wins have come at this distance, he'll likely need to go forward from his awkward draw (9) and rates a top three chance with any luck from that tricky gate.

6:15 p.m. R2 10 Commander (3 g U S Navy Flag – Quest) – Jamil Sarwi (a3); he drew barrier 12 of 13 in the $20,000 Maiden 1600 metres on the turf and carries 49kg. Not beaten by big margins, he now drops to Maiden grade, has the advantage of a light weight, but he too requires luck from a wide draw (12).

8:15 p.m. R6 5 Te Akau Ben (6 g Tavistock – Danalaga) – Yusoff Fadzli (a2); he drew barrier 5 of 14 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on the turf and carries 53kg. He copped traffic issues last start, however from that barrier should get a nice trip and looks a top three chance - one of two in the event for the stable.

8:15 p.m. R6 9 Maximum Control (4 g Written Tycoon – Alcatraz) – Jamil Sarwi (a3); he drew barrier 13 of 14 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on the turf and carries 48kg. He has ability, but yes again, is another who has copped a nightmare draw (13) and will need everything in his favour.

9:50 p.m. R9 3 Axel (8 g Darci Brahma – Josephines Fortune) – Jamil Sarwi (a3); he drew barrier 7 of 14 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on the turf and carries just 52.5kg. He comes out of a good form race, and is better suited to this course/distance - and honest performer, he has first four claims.

9:50 p.m. R9 8 Montana Flash (5 g Star Turn – Dukemore) – Ibrahim Mamat (a3); he drew barrier 4 of 14 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on the turf and carries only 50kg. he rocketed home last start, has good course/distance credentials, and is nicely weighted to race competitively.
