Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview

The 2015 Champion Singapore Trainer and Trainers' Premiership winner, Te Akau's Mark Walker (who finished third on the 2016 Trainers' Premiership) has trained 85 winners - he continues to dominate the Trainers' Premiership - now with a 23-win lead.

Sunday 26 November

8.15 p.m. R5 7 CHAMPAGNE REIN - App R Zawari (a2); a later start for the team today kicking off in this Open Benchmark 67 1000m on the polytrack where this 6YO draws competitively (3) in this compact field of only nine runners. With 53kgs thanks to the apprentice claim this son of Captain Rio has been set for this race, the blinker/pacifiers go on - top four chance.

8.50 p.m. R6 10 BIG REGARDS - Craig Grylls; an awkward draw (11 of 13) for this son of Darci Brahma in the Class 5 1400m on the turf short course B where he is assigned with 52.5kgs. To be piloted by the Kiwi rider, this 4YO needs to show improvement.

10.25 p.m. R9 9 SHE'S THE ONE - App N Hanafi (a4); this mare is living up to her name with a form line that reads 2-6-2-1-1 and is enjoying a purple patch of form. In this Class 4 1700m on the polytrack, the Murtajill 4YO draws to be a danger (2) and with the maximum apprentice allowance she really poses a threat in this field of 13 with only 48.5kgs on her back - lightweight chance.

11.00 p.m. R10 3 FIRST LIGHT - Vlad Duric; another in-form runner for Mark Walker to close off a relatively quiet night by stable standards (but look out next weekend)! This 4YO Duporth gelding is also enjoying great form 4-2-1-2 and in the Class 4 1200m on the turf short course B he can be a major player from gate six of 14. With the top rider aboard, carrying 56.5kgs, he went very well first up and has improved from that - top four prospect.
