Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview

The 2015 Champion Singapore Trainer and Trainers' Premiership winner, Te Akau's Mark Walker (who finished third on the 2016 Trainers' Premiership) has trained 86 winners - he continues to dominate the Trainers' Premiership - now with a 21-win lead.

Sunday 2 December - final race day of the season!
5.50 p.m. R1 5 VENUS DE MILO - App N Hanafi (a4); two runners to start the very busy final night of the 2017 season for the team! This Class 5 1200m is raced on the polytrack and the first starter for Mark Walker draws out at 11 and drops to 55kgs with the claim. She isn't the biggest filly and with a tricky barrier to overcome, a place chance.
5.50 p.m. R1 9 LIM'S SIGNATURE - Daniel Moor; another awkward draw (10 of 12) for the stablemate who is weighted with 58.5kgs. This 4YO is in good form but the barrier is the challenge - top five chance.
6.20 p.m. R2 2 BLACK QUAIL - App R Zawari (a2); this Coats Choice 4YO contests the Initiation 4YO & Below over 1200m on the turf short course D where he draws 10 of 12 and with the apprentice allowance carries 55.5kgs. He has been solid in his three starts to date (5-2-5) and despite the bad barrier draw, his good form presents him as a good top five prospect.
6.50 p.m. R3 3 THE COSMOS - Vlad Duric; this 6YO son of Darci Brahma has really hit his straps for his Kiwi owner and in this Class 4 1100m on the polytrack, he draws gate 5 of 12 and has 57.5kgs on his back. With a form line of 1-3-2-3-6 he comes in fresh and rates a top four chance.
7.20 p.m. R4 11 JACK'S SECRET - App N Hanafi (a4); twelve starters in this Class 4 1400m on the turf short course D where this Fortuna runner draws well (4) with the featherweight of only 51kgs. This 5YO son of Sakhee's Secret has been racing in a purple patch of form with three seconds culminating in a well-deserved last start victory - a lightweight prospect.
8.20 p.m. R6 3 STORM TROOPER - App R Zawari (a2); this 6YO son of Tavistock would grow another leg with any rain as he contests the Class 4 1600m on the turf short course D. Jumping from barrier eight, he takes on 11 combatants in the 
S$60,000 event and is assigned with 55.5kgs with the apprentice up. He had absolutely no luck last start - top five chance.
8.50 p.m. R7 7 DISTINCTIVE DARCI - Vlad Duric; this talented 4YO by Champion Singapore sire Darci Brahma is the first of two for the stable in this Kranji Stakes A over 1200m on the polytrack. He will break from gate seven and carry 54kgs with the leading rider of the Singapore season aboard. He is in good form but faces off against a very strong field - top five chance.
8.50 p.m. R7 8 ECLAIR CHOICE - App CK Ng (a3); the second for Mark Walker in this S$125,000 event draws the rank outside (12 of 12) but with the claim drops to a competitive 49.5kgs. He ran a much better race for third last time presented but the barrier makes it tough - a lightweight chance.
9.25 p.m. R8 2 SHOW FAR SHOW GOOD - App R Zawari (a2); two for the stable again in this Kranji Stakes C SW 2000m on the turf short course D. This 5YO by Showcasing brings super form (1-3-3-4) to the table but has drawn out a touch (9) in this field of 12 where he drops to 56kgs thanks to the apprentice claim. He ins enjoying good form - top five chance.
9.25 p.m. R8 5 TURQUOISE KING - Craig Grylls; the second for the stable has the Kiwi rider aboard, however he doesn't fare much better draw-wise (10 of 12) and has 56.5kgs to carry. He is an older horse now that needs rain.
10.30 p.m. R10 6 CHAMPAGNE REIN - Craig Grylls; this Class 3 1000m on the polytrack carries a purse of S$80,000 and with a nice lightweight (52kgs), he a horse on the back up. Jumping from gate two of the 12 starters, he faces a tougher field for this assignment - a lightweight, top five chance.
11.00 p.m. R11 1 ANCIENT WARRIOR - App R Zawari (a2); to close off the night and the season, two stable starters in this Class 4 1400m on the turf short course D where this first runner looks to go one better than his last start second. He draws seven of 12, drops to 55kgs and has had a very good preparation - holding good form, he rates a top four chance.
11.00 p.m. R11 4 LIM'S REGARD - Glen Boss; the honour for the last runner for the champion season lies with this 4YO by Red Giant who was a convincing back-to-back winner three and four starts ago. Tonight he will ping the six gate of the 12 starters and with the international jockey up, has 56.5kgs to carry. He looks well in himself and can be considered a top four chance.
