Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview
4 February, 2018
It is the start of the second month of the new 2018 Singapore season - with Mark Walker being confirmed as the 2017 Champion Trainer - his second Premiership since re-locating to Singapore - to date Mark has trained four winners.

Sunday 4 February

5.45 p.m. R1 BIG REGARDS - Glen Boss; two runners in the first for Mark Walker, the Class 5 1700m on the polytrack. The first, a son of Darci Brahma, draws barrier six and carries 55.5kgs for the top Australian rider. He was a winner two starts ago and in good form, he rates a top four chance.
5.45 p.m. R1 7 KASHAN - Craig Grylls; the second for the stable in this field of 12 draws wider at nine and has 53.5kgs assigned. This six year old has been knocking at the winner's door and presents as a top four chance.
6.15 p.m. R2 8 SHAMROCK - Glen Boss; a reasonable draw (7 of 10) for this Fortuna runner in the Restricted Maiden 2&3YO WFA 1200m on the turf short course B where he carries 57kgs. After an eye-catching second on debut, not much went his way at his second start - he returns from a bleeding incident and looks a good place chance.
7.50 p.m. R5 7 PRINCE DARCI - App MM Firdaus (a1); in this Class 4 Non-Premier 2000m on the turf short course B, this 4YO will jump from gate five in the field of 14 with 53kgs on his back, with the 1kg apprentice allowance. Another Fortuna owned runner, he needs a form track to be at his best - place chance.
10.00 p.m. R9 8 DISCRETELY RED - Craig Grylls; draws well (4) in this S$60,000 Class 4 Premier 1200m on the turf short course B where he will carry 54.5kgs. A winner two starts ago, this Kiwi-owned 4YO by Redwood faces nine opponents and will be more competitive over further distance.
10.30 p.m. R10 8 ELITE INVINCIBLE - Glen Boss; to wrap the evening's racing, the final stable starter
lines up in this S$125,000 Kranji Stakes A SW 1600m on the turf short course B. Unfortunately he cops a wide draw (10 of 12) but does have a lightweight of 52kgs to carry. He has won two of his three Singapore starts and is a highly promising horse - however he faces a very tough field and presents as a place chance.
