Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview

Singapore's Champion Trainer of 2015 and 2017, Te Akau's Mark Walker lies third on the Trainers' Premiership this season with 16 wins, 19 second and 19 third placings.

5.40 p.m. R2 2 BEJEWELLED - App R Zawari (a1); the day begins with this 3YO son of Minstrel Court having his Singapore debut in the S$85,000 Restricted Maiden 2&3YO WFA 1100m on the polytrack. He has drawn nicely for his first start (2 of 10 runners) and carries 56kgs with the apprentice aboard. Syndicated from New Zealand, he has a small team of mostly Kiwi owners enthusiastic about Singapore racing - he is a horse that Mark Walker really likes but for his first start, he does run into a couple of smart types with more experience under their belts thus - place chance.

6.10 p.m. R3 11 SUCCESS SOME TRUE - Ismail Azhar; this last start winner takes his place in the Class 4 non-premier 1200m also on the polytrack where he will will carry only 52.5kgs but unfortunately he has copped the outside draw in this field of 12 starters - the barrier draw makes it a tough ask for this 4YO by Alamosa.

6.40 p.m. R4 10 LIM'S RHYTHM - Alan Munro; contesting the Open Maiden WFA 1700m, this honest galloper has a handy draw (2) and 54.5kgs assigned. Racing on the polytrack against a field of 10 competitors, his form of late has been a touch flat and he needs to lift.

6.15 p.m. R5 9 SACRED GALAXY - App MM Firdaus (a1); the final runner on a relatively quiet night for the stable is also a horse that has won recently and he takes his place for the Raffles' Racing team in this Class 3 1200m on the polytrack where he drops to a nice lightweight of 51.5kgs and draws the ace. Facing an opposition line-up of nine, this 5YO son of Flying Spur will be more competitive when he drops back to Class 4.
