Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview

Singapore's Champion Trainer of 2015 and 2017, Te Akau's Mark Walker has recorded 21 wins, 23 second and 20 third placings - the highlight thus far being last weekend's Group 2 Merlion Trophy win by Distinctive Darci as well as a winning double on Friday.

6.10 p.m. R3 3 DAZZLING SPEED - App Razali Zawari (a1); the first runner for the stable today steps out in this Class 4 Non-Premier 1200m on the turf short course E where he cops the widest draw (12 of 12) and has 55.5kgs with the apprentice engaged. Second up today, having finished a tidy sixth on his recent debut, this Guillotine 3YO has a terrible draw to combat and needs luck.

6.40 p.m. R4 1 WIRA SAKTI - Vlad Duric; the leading Singapore rider takes charge in this Open Maiden WFA 1200m on the turf short course E where Mark Walker lines up two of the field of 12 runners. The first will jump from one off the outside gate (11) and have 57.5kgs on his back. Having his fourth Kranji start today, he was finished in the money in the first two of his appearances but this 4YO also has a difficult draw and with that to contend with - place chance.

6.40 p.m. R4 2 O'REILLY STAR - App Mohamad Firdaus (a1); the second for the stable is owned by New Zealand connections and resumes in this S$20,000 event where he will bounce from gate three and drop to 56.5kgs with the apprentice aboard. He finished off his last campaign in good fashion when running second but he does need more distance - place chance as he kicks off a new prep.

8.15 p.m. R7 1 NORTHERN KNIGHT - App Razali Zawari (a1); again a stable duo in this Class 4 Non-Premier 1700m on the polytrack where the first representative draws out at barrier eight and with the claim, will carry 57kgs. A 6YO who can mix his form, he drops back to Class 4 company here - a top four prospect.

8.15 p.m. R7 6 MOMENT OF JUSTICE - Vlad Duric; the second for Mark Walker in the S$45,000 event draws the ace in the field of 12 and is assigned 57kgs. With the champion rider up, this 5YO showed improvement for fourth when last presented. He's been unlucky of late and looks close to another winning turn.

8.50 p.m. R8 8 LIM'S REFORM - Harry Kasim; Just 52kgs for this son of O'Reilly in the Class 3 1200m on the polytrack. Drawn barrier five of the 12 lining up in the 
S$80,000 event - he will be more competitive when he drops back to Class 4 company.

9.55 p.m. R10 11 BLACK QUAIL - Vlad Duric; last season's champion jockey combines again with the 2017 champion trainer in the Class 4 1200m on the polytrack where the Kiwi-owned son of Coat's Choice springs from barrier seven of the 12 runners and has 55.5kgs allocated weight. With a handy form-line behind him (5-1-3-4-5), this 4YO looks a top four chance.
