Sunday 10 June 2018
5.10 p.m. R1 1 BEN GUNN - Alysha Collett; three Mark Walker runners take their place in the Class 4 non-premier 1200m on the turf short course B where this 4YO draws gate three and carries 57kgs with the Kiwi rider aboard. He had no luck last time, but he does have ability.
5.10 p.m. R1 2 DAZZLING SPEED - App Razali Zawari (a1); the second for the stable in this S$45,000 event is a Guillotine 3YO who sadly draws wide (12) for his second Singapore start today. With 55.5kgs assigned thanks to the apprentice claim, he was a solid sixth on debut - the draw does not help - place chance.
5.10 p.m. R1 4 HEARTLIGHT - Vlad Duric; the last of the trio in this 14-strong field makes his Singapore debut today - a 3YO by Any Suggestion, he will break from barrier seven and with the top rider engaged, he carries 56kgs. He was one win from his only new Zealand starts - each way prospect.
5.40 p.m. R2 9 GRIDIRON - Vlad Duric; in the Open Maiden WFA 1100m on the polytrack, this 3YO has his third start since arriving from Australia. In this field of 12, he draws well (4) and is assigned 56.5kgs. With the advantage of Singapore's leading rider engaged, the blinkers go on and we look for an improved performance.
6.10 p.m. R3 3 ALAMOSA EXPRESS - App Razali Zawari (a1); again three starters for the stable in this Class 4 Premier 1200m on turf short course B. The first, a Kiwi owned son of Alamosa, jumps from gate six and drops to 55.5kgs. He has been racing consistently well since arriving in Singapore, the second for the stable in this - top four chance.
6.10 p.m. R3 4 FIRST LIGHT - Craig Grylls; the second for the team in this
S$20,000 affair draws to be dangerous (5) and has 56.5kgs to carry for the Kiwi rider. This 4YO has shown plenty of ability to date bit does have a difficult barrier to contend with - top four chance if he can navigate this.
6.10 p.m. R3 12 SACRED GURU - Michael Rodd; the final of the trio in this field of 12 races in the Raffles' Farm colours and draws out at barrier 10 with 55.5kgs on his back. Disappointing so far, this 4YO could be Malaysia bound.
6.40 p.m. R4 1 HIDDEN PROMISE - Vlad Duric; two starters for the stable in the Class 4 non-premier 1600m on the polytrack - the first for Fortuna draws well (3) and has 57kgs allocated. The 5YO form has tapered off a little but blinkers on, back to Class 4, an improved presence is hoped for.
6.40 p.m. R4 5 NORTHERN KNIGHT - Alysha Collett; the second of the duo also draws well (2 of 10) and has 55.5kgs for the Kiwi rider. This 6YO could well be Malaysia bound.
7.15 p.m. R5 1 DISTINCTIVE DARCI - Vlad Duric; this talented son of Darci Brahma lines up in the S$125,000 Kranji Stakes A back on the polytrack over 1200m which should suit him well. In this field of 11 for one of the features, he draws gate three and has the top weight of 59.5kgs. He didn't appreciate the turf last start as we anticipated he wouldn't so back on the polytrack, the winner of three of his last four starts 595 top three
8.15 p.m. R7 4 VIVIANO - Vlad Duric; the final runner for Mark Walker lines up in the Raffles' Racing colours in the Kranji Stakes A SW 1200m on the polytrack where he draws well (3 of 11) and carries 55kgs in the S$125,000 event. This 6YO has been in sublime form 2-2-2-1 and and although it is a tough field - rates a top four chance.
8.50 p.m. R8 2 ELITE INVINCIBLE - Vlad Duric; this 4YO lines up in the Group 2 Stewards' Cup SW 1400m on the turf short course B. drawing to be dangerous (4) with 57kgs and the top jockey, he brings very good form to this event and is a talented galloper - first four chance.
9.25 p.m. R9 4 LIM'S KNIGHT - Vlad Duric; the final race for Mark Walker where he lines up three starters in the Class 3 1200m on the turf short course B - this 5Yo draws the outside gate and has 56kgs. He needs rain to negate the awful draw.
9.25 p.m. R9 11 SACRED EMPIRE - Alysha Collett; the second of the trio in this
S$80,000 event is a 5YO on debut for Raffles Racing. He draws six and has 53 kgs and better more distance the better with this horse.
