Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview

Te Akau horses racing at Kranji racecourse in Singapore, where 2015 and 2017 Premiership winning trainer Mark Walker has recorded 34 wins, 38 second and 37 third placings since 1 January - including a Group 1 quinella in the Charity Bowl to add to the season's two Group 2 victories.  He currently lies third on the Trainers' Premiership.

Sunday 12 August at Kranji

4.50 p.m. R1 3 Moment of Justice (6 g Daliapour - Fleety Moments) - Vlad Duric; draws barrier 11 of 12 in the $38,000 Kranji D 1800 metres on the turf and carries 58kgs. With some rain about, he rates a top four chance.

5.20 p.m. R2 3 Accumulation (4 g Rip Van Winkle - Vega Sicila) - Vlad Duric; will break from barrier seven of 11 in the $20,000 Maiden 1200 metres on the polytrack and carries 56kgs. With blinkers on, he finds a suitable race here - and while No. 1 appears tough to beat, this four year old rates a top four chance.

6.20 p.m. R4 2 Gridiron (4 g Captain Gerard - Natural Lil) - Mohamad Firdaus (a1); will jump from barrier five of 12 in the $20,000 Class 5 1000 metres on the polytrack and carries 56kgs. Back in Class 5, he receives an opportunity to improve - his trackwork has been solid, he just needs to transfer that to race day.

7.25 p.m. R6 1 Northern Knight (7 g Sir Percy - Pesky) - Razali Zawari (a1); draws barrier 10 of 11 in the $38,000 Kranji D 1800 metres on the turf and carries 57kgs. He strikes a suitable race to prove a top four chance.

7.55 p.m. R7 6 Turf Beauty (5 m Daliapour - Hanna Rossa) - Ryan Curatolo; will jump from barrier eight of 11 in the Class 4 1200 metres on the turf and carries 55kgs. She has blinkers on but does requires rain to improve - one of two in the race for trainer Mark Walker.

7.55 p.m. R7 8 Black Quail (5 g Coats Choice - Sefidi) - Alysha Collett; the second of the stable duo in this $60,000 affair has the four barrier and carries 54.5kgs. He resumes with visor blinkers on and improvement is sought back on the turf.

9.05 p.m. R9 14 Kingsman (5 g Darci Brahma - Society Lady) - Alysha Collett; in the feature race, this talented Group 1 performer draws nicely at barrier two of 15 in the $200,000 Jumbo Jet Trophy (Gr. 3, 1400m) on the turf and carries 51kgs. Racing well and flying in his work, he looks ideally placed and rates a strong top three chance.

9.40 p.m. R10 9 Prince Darci (5 g Darci Brahma - Obsession) - Craig Grylls; unfortunately has copped barrier 13 of 14 in the $45,000 Class 4 1600 metres on the turf and carries 53.5kgs. A horse that is looking for further, he would appreciate some give in the ground.
