Te Akau Singapore Weekend Preview
28 November, 2014

Te Akau horses racing at Kranji Racecourse in Singapore.
Friday Nov. 28
11.50 p.m. R1 2 Iking (6 g Holy Roman Emperor - Lacada) - David Flores; drew barriersix of ten in the $38,000 Kranji D 1600 metres on the poly track and carries 58kgs. He has worked nicely and while Bob (Darci Brahma) appears the hardest to beat he can prove a top four chance.
12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R2 5 Deluge (3 g Guillotine - Flood) - Lisa Allpress; drew the outside barrier of ten in the $75,000 Restricted Maiden 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 53kgs. On debut, he will drop back from the wide draw and in a field with relatively unknown form it would nice to see him find the line encouragingly.
1.20 a.m. (Saturday) R4 5 Pharma Browne (4 g Saperavi - Patient) - Wei Sheng Chan (a4); drew barrier one of ten in the $35,000 Maiden 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 51.5kgs. Fresh without at trial, he resumes over the sprint trip and while improvement will come over ground he could put in a cheeky effort from the inside gate - one of two in the race for Te Akau.
1.20 a.m. (Saturday) R4 7 Regal Salute (5 g King's Chapel - Spring Dancer) - Hassan Amin (a4); drew barrier four of ten in the $35,000 Maiden 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 50kgs. Like his stable-mate, above, he too resumes without a trial and will improve over ground.
3.20 a.m. (Saturday) R8 1 Prince Mag (5 g Zamindar - Princess D'Orange) - Rawali Zawari (a3); drew barrier one of twelve in the $38,000 Kranji D 1600 metres on the poly track and carries 55kgs. Trainer Mark Walker is happy with his condition and feels he can run first four in a slightly weaker field than he met last time.
Sunday Nov. 30
5.55 p.m. R1 5 Single Act (5 g Bachelor Duke - Consumer) - Hassan Amin (a4); drew barrier six of eleven in the $38,000 Kranji D 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 52.5kgs. He resumes over 1000 metres, rather than trialling, with a view to dropping back to Class 5.
6.55 p.m. R3 2 Riedel (5 g Saperavi - La Conga) - Hassan Amin (a4); drew barrier eight of nine in the $60,000 Benchmark 67 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 52.5kgs. Resumes, is not far from dropping back to Class 4, and will be suited to more distance.
7.25 p.m. R4 11 Zac Warrior (6 g Bel Esprit - Lessie) - Lisa Allpress; drew barrier two of eleven in the $35,000 Class 5 1100 metres on the poly track and carries 50.5kgs. Ideally drawn, he has a gear change of blinkers and pacifiers and can produce a good performance under a light weight.
10.10 p.m. R9 2 Makkura (7 m Falkirk - Electric Dream) - Corey Brown; drew the outside barrier of ten in the $125,000 Kranji A 1100 metres on poly track and carries 56.5kgs. Resumes off a long spell and will take benefit from the outing - one of two in the race for Te Akau.
10.10 p.m. R9 3 Golden Sands Steeds (5 g Pins - Ambitious) - Rawali Zawari (a3); drew barrier three of ten in the $125,000 Kranji A 1100 metres on poly track and carries 52kgs. Has pleased trainer Mark Walker and given a good trip can finish top four.
10.45 p.m. R10 1 Dr Octopus (4 g Perfectly Ready - Kalapana Black) - David Flores; drew barrier two of twelve in the $38,000 Kranji D 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 58kgs. He brings solid form and should receive an economical trip - one of two in the race for Te Akau.
10.45 p.m. R10 8 Select Gathering (6 g Choisir - Naturally) - Hassan Amin (a4); drew barrier seven of twelve in the $38,000 Kranji D 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 52.5kgs. He has been a consistent performer and runs his best races on the poly.
