Te Akau Singapore Weekend Preview

Te Akau horses racing at Kranji Racecourse in Singapore, where trainer Mark Walker leads the premiership with 28 wins since the season started on January 1.

5.50 p.m. R1 14 Von Snitzel (6 g Snitzel - Lumir) - Shafiq Rusof (a1); is the second emergency, drawn barrier seven of fourteen in the $35,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the turf long course E and carries 54kgs. The winner of two, his last victory came on the turf over 1400 metres and takes a couple of solid recent efforts into the race should he make the field.
6.50 p.m. R3 3 Lucky Dapper (5 g Testa Rossa - Buttonhook) - Manoel Nunes; drew barrier thirteen of fourteen (12 run) in the $60,000 Class 4 1100 metres on the poly track and carries 56kgs. He responded well to being ridden off the pace last time, which will be the tactics again from the wide gate and look to get home strongly as a top four chance.

7.20 p.m. R4 5 Appellation (3 g Pentire - Tattinger) - Manoel Nunes; drew barrier six of fourteen (12 run) in the $65,000 Initiation Stakes 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 55.5kgs. On the fresh side, with blinkers on, he is ideally drawn to rate a top four chance.

8.55 p.m. R7 1 Eclair Sensation (5 g Street Sense - Aristocracy) - Shafiq Rusof (a1); drew barrier five of fourteen (12 run) in the $60,000 Class 4 1100 metres on the poly track and carries 56kgs. He has pleased trainer Mark Walker leading into the race and a clear run from the handy gate can see him finish in the top four.

11.05 p.m. R11 11 Jimmy Rea (3 g Thewayyouare - Maureen Terese) - Manoel Nunes; drew barrier five of thirteen in the $100,000 Benchmark 83 1200 metres on the turf long course E and carries 50kgs. He looks terrific following a quiet trial and while meeting a strong field he can get home strongly from off the pace to finish in the first four.

He looks well, has been working nicely, and can finish somewhere in the first four - one of two in the race for Te Akau.
4.50 p.m. R1 8 Ready Fortune (5 g More than Ready - Bahira) - Shafiq Rusof (a1); drew barrier eight of fourteen (12 run) in the $35,000 Class 5 1700 metres on the poly track and carries 57kgs. Shafiq rode four winners at the last meeting here, and the horse strips in the right condition to finish in the top five.

He gets his chance on the turf and although the field is quite strong he rates a top five chance - one of two in the race for Te Akau.
6.20 p.m. R4 5 Hee's Ego (3 g Tale of the Cat - Quatro) - Manoel Nunes; drew barrier six of fifteen (14 run) in the $65,000 Initiation 1600 metres on the turf short course A and carries 55.5kgs. He worked nicely through the week and rates a top four chance from a reasonable draw.

A winner on debut, he looks very bright for his second start. Although meeting a stronger field, he has drawn ideally and can hopefully finish in the first five - one of two in the race for Te Akau.
6.50 p.m. R5 8 Storm Trooper (3 g Tavistock - Shock) - Shafiq Rusof (a1); drew barrier seven of ten in the $75,000 Graduation 1200 metres on the turf short course A and carries 52kgs. Up in class following his last start win, after two seconds, he comes in quite fresh for the sprint trip and rates a top four chance.

8.25 p.m. R8 8 Golden Sand Steed (5 g Pins - Ambitious) - Harry Kasim; drew barrier eight of nine in the $200,000 Group 3 Kranji Sprint 1200 metres on the turf short course A and carries 50kgs. His best form has been on the poly, rather than the turf, but he is a very genuine performer that should race well despite the strength of the field.

9.00 p.m. R9 1 Dreamcatcher (6 g Occidental Tourist - Camilla) - Shafiq Rusof (a1); drew barrier eleven of fourteen (12 run) in the $38,000 Kranji D 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 57kgs. Although drawing wide yet again, the rider is in great touch for him to rate a top four chance with luck in running. He is a lovely horse that tries hard - one of two in the race for Te Akau.
9.00 p.m. R9 8 Fiscal Wings (6 g Fusaichi Pegasus - Cashier) - Ng Choon Kiat (a4); drew barrier three of fourteen (12 run) in the $38,000 Kranji D 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 52.5kgs. Ideally drawn, with weight relief, it is planned to steal a break off the front and although meeting quite a strong field he can run a cheeky race.

10.05 p.m. R11 9 Iking (6 g Holy Roman Emperor - Lacada) - Shafiq Rusof (a1); drew barrier five of fifteen (14 run) in the $60,000 Class 4 1600 metres on the turf short course A and carries 55kgs. Trainer Mark Walker is happy with his fitness and condition, although he may require dropping down a grade before proving more competitive.

10.25 p.m. R12 11 Sebrose (4 g Sebring - Bramble Rose) - Manoel Nunes; drew barrier one of fifteen (14 run) in the $60,000 Benchmark 67 1400 metres on the turf short course A and carries 53kgs. He meets quite a strong field at this level, but strips in great condition, with the top rider aboard, and rates a top four chance with luck in running.
