Te Akau Singapore Weekend Preview

Te Akau horses racing at Kranji Racecourse in Singapore, where trainer Mark Walker leads the premiership with 39 wins (5 ahead of 2nd) since the season started on January 1.

Friday May 29

11.20 p.m. R3 7 Secret Spice (3 f Sakhee's Secret - Caparison) - Shafiq Rusof; drew barrier one of ten in the $60,000 Class 4 1800 metres on the turf long course E and carries 52kgs. She has pleased trainer Mark Walker and rates among the leading chances as a top five prospect - one of two in the race for Te Akau.

11.20 p.m. R3 9 Prince Mag (6 g Zamindar - Princess D'Orange) - Harry Kasim (a1); drew barrier eight of ten in the $60,000 Class 4 1800 metres on the turf long course E and carries 49.5kgs. Is looking to recapture his form, but may require a drop to Class 5.

11.50 p.m. R4 1 Joy and Happy (4 g Holy Roman Emperor - Marmoso) - Rawali Zawari (a3); drew barrier three of ten in the $35,000 Maiden 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 56kgs. Resumes over the sprint trip - somewhat like a trial for him, but he is fit and can produce a cheeky effort fresh - one of two in the race for Te Akau.

11.50 p.m. R4 3 Falcon (4 g Falkirk - Grand Princess) - Shafiq Rusof (a1); drew barrier six of ten in the $35,000 Maiden 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 55.5kgs. Also races in a fresh state and should go well before stepping up in trip.

12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R5 7 Zac Gallant (5 g Darci Brahma - Clermont Rose) - Mohd Zaki (a1); drew barrier seven of twelve in the $35,000 Class 5 1000 metres on poly track and carries 53.5kgs. Disappointing of late, he will wear blinkers and in a change of riding tactics plant on the speed.

9.35 p.m. R9 2 Clutha Lad (5 g Thorn Park - Maggies Farm) - Choon Ng (a4); drew barrier eleven of thirteen in the $80,000 Class 3 1200 metres on the turf short course A and carries 51kgs. Bright and well after a hind leg injury, the field may be a touch sharp over the sprint trip but he should be finding the line into the money from off the pace.
