Te Akau Singapore Weekend Preview

Te Akau horses racing at Kranji Racecourse in Singapore, where trainer Mark Walker leads the premiership with 40 wins (5 ahead of 2nd) since the season started on 1 January.

Friday June 5

11.20 p.m. R3 5 King Savinsky (4 g Savabeel - Lynisky) - Mansor Firdaus (a2); drew barrier one of eight in the $75,000 Graduation 1200 metres on the turf short course B and carries 53kgs. Likely to be outpaced over the sprint trip, a drop to Class 5 could see him nicely placed in around four weeks.

He receives a good opportunity back in the grade to finish in the money - one of two in the race for Te Akau.

4.55 p.m. R1 9 Ready Fortune (5 g More than Ready - Bahira) - Rawari Zawali (a3); drew barrier ten of sixteen (14 run) in the $35,000 Class 5 1400 metres on the turf short course C and carries 56.5kgs. Fresh for a drop back in distance, his style is to settle off the pace and run home strongly as a top five chance.

7.25 p.m. R6 1 Joy and Happy (4 g Holy Roman Emperor - Marmoso) - John Powell; drew the outside barrier of fourteen in the $35,000 Maiden 1200 metres on the turf short course C and carries 57.5kgs. Expected to appreciate stepping to this trip and racing on the turf, it is made tough from the draw - one of three in the race for Te Akau.

7.25 p.m. R6 4 Falcon (4 g Falkirk - Grand Princess) - Shafiq Rusof (a1); drew barrier five of fourteen in the $35,000 Maiden 1200 metres on the turf short course C and carries 53kgs. He came through his prep run very well, should be better suited to the turf and a top four chance - one of three in the race for Te Akau.

7.25 p.m. R6 13 Our River Dancer (4 g Danehill Dancer - Distinctly) - Harry Kasim; drew barrier eight of fourteen in the $35,000 Maiden 1200 metres on the turf short course C and carries 50kgs. He looks bright and well and can finish in the first five under the light weight.
