Te Akau Singapore Weekend Preview

Te Akau horses racing at Kranji Racecourse in Singapore, where trainer Mark Walker co-leads the premiership with 55 wins since the season started on 1 January. 

Friday August 21

10.50 p.m. R1 4 Zac Command (8 g Ishiguru - Dominica) - Choon Ng (a4); drew barrier six of twelve in the $35,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 53kgs. In a race for apprentice riders, he rates one of the top four chances in an even field.

12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R4 2 King Savinsky (5 g Savabeel - Lynisky) - Manoel Nunes; drew barrier one of nine in the $35,000 Class 5 1900 metres on the poly track and carries 58.5kgs. He has pleased the trainer in work with this rider aboard and receives an ideal opportunity to break through from barrier one.

12.50 a.m. (Saturday) R5 1 Deluge (4 g Guillotine - Flood) - Choon Ng (a4); drew barrier nine of fourteen (12 run) in the $35,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 53kgs. In a race for apprentice riders, he will be allowed to roll along and given the prospect of leading all the way.

1.20 a.m. (Saturday) R6 1 Indian Jade (5 g Sleeping Indian - Flora Burn) - Shafiq Rusof (a1); drew barrier seven of nine in the $100,000 Benchmark 87 1100 metres on the poly track and carries 57.5kgs. He has finished third and second respectively in two starts since joining the stable and looks very well. While No's 3 & 4 appear hard to beat, he presents in the right form to rate a top four chance again.

2.20 a.m. (Saturday) R6 1 Keen Dragon (5 g Hidden Dragon - Wasatch) - Manoel Nunes; drew barrier six of eleven in the $60,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 58.5kgs. He has pleased the trainer with his work leading into the race and with an impeccable form line he again rates a top four chance.

5.20 p.m. R1 1 Dr Octopus (5 g Perfectly Ready - Kalapana Black) - Choon Ng (a4); drew barrier six of eleven in the $35,000 Class 5 1000 metres in poly track and carries 55kgs. He has displayed good form in this grade and with the weight relief he rates a top four chance - one of two in the race for Te Akau.

5.20 p.m. R1 9 Zac Gallant (6 g Darci Brahma - Clermont Rose) - Manoel Nunes; drew the outside barrier of eleven in the $35,000 Class 5 1000 metres in poly track and carries 53kgs. He brings very good form to the race and could also finish in the first four with luck from a wide gate.

6.50 p.m. R4 7 Double Jeopardy (5 g Mettre En Jeu - Flyin' Finnish) - Manoel Nunes; drew barrier six of eleven in the $35,000 Maiden 1600 metres on the poly track and carries 54.5kgs. He has pleased the rider in his work, displaying a good action and brings the right form to rate a first four chance with luck in running.

7.25 p.m. R5 2 Prince Mag (6 g Zamindar - Princess D'Orange) - Manoel Nunes; drew barrier six of eleven in the $38,000 Kranji D 1800 metres on the poly track and carries 58kgs. Not suited by the race tempo last start, he is otherwise in good form and capable of filling a place in the first four.

7.55 p.m. R6 11 Our River Dancer (5 g Danehill Dancer - Distinctly) - Mohamad Firdaus (a2); drew barrier one of five in the $35,000 Maiden 1600 metres on the poly track and carries 48kgs. In an ideal race, the plan is to ride him forward and he should prove a first four chance under a light weight.

8.25 p.m. R7 7 Lucky Dapper (6 g Testa Rossa - Buttonhook) - Manoel Nunes; drew the outside barrier on nine in the $60,000 Class 4 1100 metres on the poly track and carries 54kgs. Yet to win in this grade, but has pleased the trainer with his work and down in the weights could finish in the first five.
