Te Akau Singapore Weekend Preview

Te Akau horses racing at Kranji Racecourse in Singapore, where trainer Mark Walker leads the premiership with 60 wins since the season started on 1 January.

Friday 11 September

10.20 p.m. R1 2 Home Run Hero (4 g Purrealist - Amatila) - Manoel Nunes; drew barrier six of fourteen (12 run) in the $38,000 Kranji D 1200 metres on the polytrack and carries 58kgs. He has pleased trainer Mark Walker and although having his first start on the polytrack, he has trialled well on the surface. Fresh for the sprint trip, he looks in great order and rates a top four chance - one of two in the race for Te Akau.

10.20 p.m. R1 13 Clermont Club (6 g Casino Prince - Razzle) - Choon Ng (a4); drew barrier four of fourteen (12 run) in the $38,000 Kranji D 1200 metres on the polytrack and carries 51kgs. First on the ballot, he needs to drop a further point for a return to Class 5.

11.20 p.m. R3 3 Our Touche (5 g Thorn Park - Centapin) - Manoel Nunes; drew barrier five on eleven in the $60,000 Class 4 1000 metres on the polytrack and carries 58kgs. He looks in terrific order, has been kept fresh for the sprint trip and with the top rider aboard he could finish in the first four.

12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R5 3 Aspen (5 g Alamosa - Kirin Belle) - Manoel Nunes; drew barrier the outside barrier of ten in the $60,000 Benchmark 67 1200 metres on the turf short course E and carries 56.5kgs. It does make it harder from the wide gate but in a fresh state he rates a top four chance with luck in running - one of two in the race for Te Akau.

12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R5 10 Iking (7 g Holy Roman Emperor - Lacada) - Choon Ng (a4); drew barrier the outside barrier of ten in the $60,000 Benchmark 67 1200 metres on the turf short course E and carries 48kgs. He looks in great order to resume and while the sprint trip is short of his best he could run into the top five.

1.50 a.m. (Saturday) R8 3 Dreamcatcher (7 g Occidental Tourist - Camilla) - Zawari Razali (a3); drew barrier four of twelve in the $60,000 Class 4 1000 metres on the polytrack and carries 54kgs. He looks great and drawn nicely but most of his form has been in Kranji D grade. In a fresh state he could run in the first five.

2.20 a.m. (Saturday) R9 11 Sacred Spin (5 g Hard Spun - Destina) - Choon Ng (a4); drew barrier eight of eleven in the $60,000 Benchmark 67 1200 metres on the turf short course E and carries 48.5kgs. Another resuming in good order and although the sprint trip in this field could be a bit strong, a top five finish under the light weight would not surprise.

Sunday September 13

5.15 p.m. R1 2 Secret Spice (4 m Sakhee's Secret - Caparison) - Manoel Nunes; drew barrier six of thirteen (12 run) in the $35,000 Class 5 1400 metres on the turf short course E and carries 57kgs. She pleased Mark Walker in a gallop through the week and although not suited as a back runner on this course, she looks in good order, has the top rider aboard and brings the right form to rate a top four chance.

6.45 p.m. R4 4 Q Nine Maxim (4 g King of Roses - Lady Penelope) - Zawari Razali (a3); drew barrier one of fourteen (12 run) in the $65,000 Initiation 1400 metres on the turf short course E and carries 54.5kgs. Suited by an increase in distance and weight relief, an economical trip should see him running on as a top five chance.

7.15 p.m. R5 10 Our River Dancer (5 g Danehill Dancer - Distinctly) - Choon Ng (a4); drew barrier eleven of fourteen (12 run) in the $35,000 Class 5 1600 metres on the polytrack and carries 52kgs. In great order since his win and although stepping up in grade, he still rates a top four chance under the light weight with luck in running.

7.50 p.m. R6 3 Zac Command (8 g Ishiguru - Dominica) - Manoel Nunes; drew barrier eleven of fourteen (12 run) in the $35,000 Class 5 1400 metres on the turf short course E and carries 57.5kgs. Pleasing in his work, and looking in good order, he has a handy record with this rider aboard and rates a top four chance despite the wide barrier - one of two in the race for Te Akau.

7.50 p.m. R6 7 Falcon (5 g Falkirk - Grand Princess) - Zawari Razali (a3); drew barrier twelve of fourteen (12 run) in the $35,000 Class 5 1400 metres on the turf short course E and carries 53.5kgs. He requires luck from a wide draw, but strips in good condition.

8.20 p.m. R7 1 Indian Jade (5 g Sleeping Indian - Flora Burn) - Zawari Razali (a3); drew barrier six of eight in the $100,000 Benchmark 83 1200 metres on the turf short course E and carries 55kgs. Claims relief as the top weight, and in a field where (2) Flak Jacket and (6) Famous Artist look hard to beat, he appears in the right condition to finish in the first four.

Pleasing in his work since winning last start, he meets a stronger field and a top four finish would be satisfying.
