Te Akau Singapore Weekend Preview

Te Akau horses racing at Kranji Racecourse in Singapore - Friday November 14 -

11.20 p.m. R1 6 Select Gathering (6 g Choisir - Naturally) - Lisa Allpress; drew barrier two of twelve in the $38,000 Kranji D 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 56.5kgs. Freshened for the sprint trip, he can produce a good run from a handy gate with an inform rider aboard.

12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R3 6 Dreamcatcher (6 g Occidental Tourist - Camilla) - Corey Brown; drew barrier one of twelve in the $60,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 54kgs. Has been up for awhile, but it is hoped he can produce another bold performance from the inside gate with a top rider aboard.

1.20 a.m. (Saturday) R5 9 Mala Mala (4 g Any Suggestion - Waitui Belle) - Corey Brown; drew barrier three of fourteen (12 run) in the $35,000 Maiden 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 55.5kgs. Trainer Mark Walker has been happy with his work and favourable factors, including draw and rider, see him as a top five chance.

1.50 a.m. (Saturday) R6 1 Dr Octopus (4 g Perfectly Ready - Kalapana Black) - David Flores; drew barrier three of eleven in the $38,000 Kranji D 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 58kgs - one of two in the race for Te Akau.

1.50 a.m. (Saturday) R6 7 Clermont Club (5 g Casino Prince - Razzle) - Hassan Amin (a4); drew barrier eight of eleven in the $38,000 Kranji D 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 52.5kgs. He resumes at a distance short of his best, but is bright and well.

Sunday November 16 -

6.00 p.m. R1 7 Chase (3 g Nicconi - Speedos) - Lisa Allpress; drew barrier ten of sixteen (14 run) in the $65,000 Initiation 1600 metres on the turf long course B and carries 51kgs. Unlucky not to have won in his last two starts, a better run in transit gives would give him a chance to win on Gold Cup Day.

7.05 p.m. R3 8 Prince Mag (3 g Zamindar - Princess D'Orange) - Lisa Allpress; drew barrier three of sixteen (14 run) in the $60,000 Class 4 1600 metres on the turf long course B and carries 55.5kgs. Drawn nicely, he can run a solid race and only improve when stepped over more distance.

10.20 p.m. R9 3 Om (5 g Darci Brahma - Songfest) - Craig Newitt; drew barrier three of twelve in the $80,000 Class 3 1200 metres on the turf long course B and carries 56kgs. His three wins have been over 1400 metres and he resumes over the sprint trip.

11.35 p.m. R11 4 Hardcore Rock (4 g Fastnet Rock - River Dreaming) - Mark Du Plessis; drew barrier eleven of sixteen (14 run) in the $60,000 Class 4 1400 metres on the turf long course B and carries 57kgs. Trainer Mark Walker is happy with the horse following his last start win and although up in grade suggests he can prove competitive with a decent trip from an awkward draw - one of two in the race for Te Akau.

11.35 p.m. R11 7 Aspen (4 g Alamosa - Kirin Belle) - David Flores; drew barrier twelve of sixteen (14 run) in the $60,000 Class 4 1400 metres on the turf long course B and carries 56kgs. He looks bright and well for his return to racing, with a plan to ride him back in the field from a wide draw and let him find the line.
