Te Akau Singpore Weekend Preview

Te Akau horses racing at Kranji Racecourse in Singapore.

Friday 7 November

11.50 p.m. R1 1 Iking (6 g Holy Roman Emperor - Lacada) - Rawali Zawari (a3); drew barrier eight of twelve in the $38,000 Kranji D 1400 metres on the turf long course D and carries 55kgs. He has trained on nicely since an encouraging first up run and this rider has won on him previously.

12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R2 7 My Lucky Strike (3 g Charge Forward - Hanna Rossa) - Lisa Allpress; drew the outside barrier of ten in the $65, 000 Initiation Stakes 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 52.5kgs. Having recently trialled pleasingly in blinkers, he now makes his debut in Singapore. Although not ideal drawing the outside, he is capable of finishing in the first four with a decent trip and can only improve.

2.55 a.m. (Saturday) R7 12 Sebrose (4 g Sebring - Bramble Rose) - Jimmy Kek (a4); drew barrier eight of twelve in the $60,000 Benchmark 67 1400 metres on the turf long course D and carries 46.5kgs. Mark Walker has reported the horse to have trained on encouragingly since his fresh up third and under a featherweight he should receive a favourable trip from barrier one.

Sunday November 9

5.45 p.m. R1 5 Affirmation (8 g Fastnet Rock - Affirmed Lane) - Hassan Amin (a4); drew barrier eight of twelve in the $35,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 52.5kgs. He looks a picture of health returning to the races from a good spell and while racing will improve him he can produce a cheeky performance when fresh.

6.15 p.m. R2 8 Chase (3 g Nicconi - Speedos) - Zulkifli Zuriman (a2); drew barrier one of ten in the $65,000 Initiation Stakes 1400 metres on the turf short course A and carries 50.5kgs. He was unlucky not to have won last start and worked nicely for this rider during the week. Drawn the ace, he has strong claims.

7.15 p.m. R4 9 Dreammaker (5 g Excellent Art - White River) - David Flores; drew barrier twelve of fourteen in the $35,000 Maiden 1400 metres on the turf short course A and carries 53kgs. Gradually getting back to full fitness, able to secure a decent passage off a wide gate can see an encouraging performance.

8.20 p.m. R6 12 Zac Warrior (6 g Bel Esprit - Lessie) - Lisa Allpress; drew barrier three of twelve in the $35,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 50kgs. Having trialled nicely in preparation to resume, he seems bright and can show up in the first five under a light weight.
