3.26 p.m. R6 1 Aotea Lad (4 g Savabeel - Corsage) - Joe Kamaruddin (a3); found the line when resuming here in the Rating 74 1200 metres on 31 January, and following two very good thirds he won the Rating 74 1600 metres here on 24 March with Kamaruddin aboard. Remaining in the same grade for the $16,000 Fasttrack $5k Rating 74 1600 metres, but up two kilos to carry 59.5kg, he again rates a top three chance. Fixed odds: $5.00 & $2.00.

3.26 p.m. R6 5 Mazzuro (6 g Rip Van Winkle - Mini Pearl) - Danielle Johnson; spelled after a spring campaign from the Te Akau base at Riccarton. He rounded off well when trialling on 16 March at Cambridge, and resumes in the $16,000 Fasttrack $5k Rating 74 1600 metres. A handy prospect in the staying ranks, but capable of a bold fresh-up effort. Fixed odds: $11.00 & $3.50.
