Te Akau Sunday Update
27 January, 2019
Hats off to the Auckland Racing Club and New Zealand Bloodstock for putting on a wonderful night's racing at Ellerslie last night.
What a thrill to be part of it all and for Te Akau Racing to trifecta the million dollar 2 year-old race, well that had to be a career highlight.
I must admit that I had a tear in my eye after the race. Well done to Jamie Richards and all the team who work at Te Akau Racing and Te Akau Stud that look after these horses so incredibly well.
This morning we are back out at the sales having a look yet again at our short list and if you would like to come out to the sales and be part of the Te Akau Team we will make you feel very welcome. Please give Libby Richards, our Racing Manager a call on 0274693478 and she will arrange to meet you at the sale and bring you up to where I sit with Mark Walker and Jamie Richards to watch the sale and the bid.
Even if you haven't got a horse with Te Akau Racing it's not too late to join the winning team and it was incredible last night how many Te Akau owners were at the races and they all said one thing in common, how impressed they are also at this sale last year with our communication and how welcome they are made to feel. So why bid against me, when you can join the winning team!
Another highlight yesterday was seeing Equinox, an expensive colt that I purchased, win his first start at Trentham. I think that was our eighth two year old winner this season and all these two year olds will carry on to race as three and four year old's - just like last season's Group 1 and Group 3 winning two years old Sword of Osman - I thought his run in the Group 3 Mongolian Khan Trophy last night was also full of merit, finishing a close second.
We are looking forward to purchasing the next champion at Karaka this week. You will be able to see all our purchases on our website and we have a new ‘live chat' available on the website so get in touch. We also now have a new option for you to secure your share in your chosen horse(s) by paying a refundable deposit (if the horse is already snapped up) through our website (Yearlings & Shares page) - www.teakauracing.com
If you can't make it out to the sale today or next week - Book 1 will be broadcast on Trackside's Pop-Up channel 263 - just scroll up from Trackside normal channel 63 and you will find it. Karyn will be assisting the TV team during the week and we both just can't wait to see the action unfold.
Go the Tangerine!
PS enjoy this morning's picture thanks to our team member Kate Belsham of our three mega star Million girls!!
