Te Akau Sunday Update

David writes:

We have now finished looking at all of the horses in the Premier Sale and our second and third inspections in some cases.  We have had our vet Dr Doug Black also checking out the yearlings that we want a second opinion on.

We have seen some beautiful colts and fillies to be sold at Karaka from tomorrow - some stunning athletes in the making!

I thought you would enjoy some photos from the sale below - the first is New Zealand Bloodstock Chairman Joe Walls with Jamie Richards, Te Akau's Racing Manager and me at the sale ground.

The second below is Deb Walters, Joe Walls and myself - Deb used to have her own draft at Karaka under Karaka Downs.  She is helping out this week at Waikato Stud.

If you are in Auckland for this week (remember tomorrow is an Auckland and Waikato public holiday) then do come out to the Karaka Sale - you will be impressed at the set up and at how much fun it is.

Tonight we will be racing - yes the team is off to Ellerslie for Karaka Million night as we support Windborne in the Karaka Million and Rockfast in the Karaka 3YO Mile.  We will also be cheering on Sir Peter Vela's Arpeggio who we train for him. Te Akau Singapore trainer Mark Walker also has a nice team engaged at Kranji this evening with many to be ridden by champion jockey Manuel Nunes.
