Te Akau Taranaki Friday Preview

Te Akau Racing has two horses entered on Friday 22 November at New Plymouth.

Weather: fine, track: Soft6, rail: out 3.5 metres. No rain forecast. 

3.22 p.m. R2 8 Celtic Bling (3 f Embellish – Niamh Elizabeth) – Lily Sutherland (a1); she won two trials in this preparation before finding the Heavy8 going too testing when resuming in the Maiden 3YO 1200 metres on 30 October at Te Aroha. Contesting the $25,000 Maiden 1200 metres, she strikes better footing and is ideally drawn (3) to show quick improvement. Fixed odds: $9.50 & $2.80. 

5:46 p.m. R6 1 Malborough Bay (5 g Darci Brahma – Spin ‘N Grin) – Sima Mxothawa (a4); he was claimed on the line after receiving a nice trail in the Rating 75 1400 metres here on 6 November, and contests the $25,000 Rating 75 1400 metres. Racing well, he benefits from weight relief to 56.5kg, has placed in three of his four course attempts, and rates a top three chance from barrier five. Fixed odds: $4.20 & $1.70.
