12:51 p.m. R2 1 Burgundy Rose (5 m Burgundy - Paraiba) - Joe Kamaruddin (a2); finished fourth in a $12,000 Rating 74 1200 metres here on 2 December, before rain on the day saw the meeting abandoned, and she contests the corresponding event. With weight relief to 58.5kg, she was a course winner last November at her only previous attempt, and she rates a top three chance from barrier two.

2:01 p.m. R4 5 Savasilk (3 f Savabeel - Silk Pins) - Joe Kamaruddin (a2); resumed with a notable fifth after missing the start in the Maiden 1200 metres on 8 December at Hastings, with blinkers on, and she steps up in the $12,000 Maiden 3YO 1400 metres. She possesses a classy pedigree, being from a Pins (Snippets) mare that finished second in the Karaka Million 2YO, was Group 1 placed, and was Second Top Filly in the NZ 2YO Free Handicaps.  She has first four claims from the lady barrier three.
