Te Akau Taranaki New Year's Eve Preview

Te Akau Racing has one horse entered on Wednesday 31 December at New Plymouth.

Weather: showery, track: Soft5, rail: out 7 metres. 10mls forecast on 30th and 25mls on 31st. 

1:27 p.m. R2 1 El Viento (5 g El Roca – Mandeville) – Rory Hutchings; he returned to winning form on his favourite course in the Rating 75 1600 metres on 19 December at Matamata, also with Hutchings aboard, and remains in the same grade for the $18,500 Rating 75 1800 metres. He fought well for second here at his previous start (21 Nov.) and although up 2kg to carry 60kg, he brings the right form to look a top three chance - other starters have been scratched due to the track conditions. Fixed odds: $2.60 & $1.30.
