Te Akau Taranaki Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has one horse racing on Sunday 23 July at New Plymouth.  Note amended start time with delayed meeting.

As on race morning the conditions were: overcast and Heavy11, rail out 4 metres. Showers forecast.

12.30 p.m. R2 13 Tavis Star (5 m Tavistock - Megapins) - Alfred Chan (a2); was found to be slightly off colour following her run on 1 July at Te Rapa, but has bounced back to please in her recent work. Backed into favouritism, she had been expected to threaten in the NZB Insurance Pearl Series Rating 75 1600 metres. Two previous starts this time in were very encouraging, locally based apprentice reduces the weight to 53kgs, and a performance in keeping with her normal consistency is expected in the $25,000 Rating 75 1800 metres.
