Te Akau Taranaki Preview
30 October, 2014
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the eight-race programme on Thursday October 30 at New Plymouth - apprentice riders' day.
As on Wednesday October 29 the conditions were: overcast and Slow7, rail out 6 metres.
1.25 p.m. R3 10 Promosso (3 f Postponed - Promissory) - Mick Dee (a1); makes her debut from barrier seven in the Maiden 3YO 1200 metres. She won a trial over 800 metres on Sept. 30 at Te Teko, jumping well to travel outside the leader and displayed good attributes when holding an advantage to the line. A similar performance should enable her to prove competitive in this field.
2.00 p.m. R4 7 Equanimity (4 m More Than Ready - Insouciant) - Mick Dee (a1); ran home with real purpose for fifth when resuming on Oct. 8 in the Rating 75 1000 metres at Taupo, and steps to 1200 metres in the same grade. Although drawn handily in barrier five, she will be allowed time to find her feet. Impressive winning over 1230 metres in January at Rotorua, before following up with an equally smart victory in a strong field over 1400 metres at Ellerslie, she has a bit in her favour if given a passage to suit.
