Te Akau Taranaki Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has one horse entered for the eight-race twilight programme on Friday November 21 at New Plymouth.

As on Thursday November 20 the conditions were: fine and Dead6, rail true.

5.50 p.m. R6 11 Opulent (3 f Keeper - Silk Slipper) - Matt Cameron; did a bit of work finishing fourth in a trial over 1000 metres on Oct. 28 at Te Aroha, and resumes in the Maiden 1400 metres. Freshened after consecutive thirds at Taupo, she looks bright and has lengthened into a nice staying type of filly. Trainer Jason Bridgman has elected for side winkers to keep her focused and she will also wear a tongue tie. Barrier seven should see her settle in midfield with cover and under a deft ride she appears ideally placed here to break through. She is also an acceptor in the 6.30 p.m. race seven Maiden 3YO 1400 metres, but more likely to take her place in race six.
