Te Akau Taranaki Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the eight race programme (apprentice riders only) on Thursday 29 October at New Plymouth.

As on Wednesday 28 October the conditions were: overcast and Dead4, rail out 7.5 metres.

12.43 p.m. R1 13 Amperage (3 c Zabeel - Miss Zapper) - Shaun McKay (a2); was claimed late after holding a handy advantage at the 200m on Oct. 14 in the Maiden 1600 metres at Avondale, and steps up to 2000 metres. Likely to take up a handy position, he appears a strong chance in this field and should handle any easing in the ground.

1.18 p.m. R2 2 Hushed (5 g Don Eduardo - Danewhisper) - Shaun McKay (a2); surged late into second behind subsequent winner Oblivion (Pins) on Oct. 7 in the Maiden 1600 metres at Ruakaka, after staying on well for fifth when resuming over 1400 metres at Te Rapa. Any give should assist and before going further he appears a solid chance over a mile here.
