Te Akau Taranaki Thursday Preview










Te Akau New Zealand has seven horses racing on Thursday 3 December at New Plymouth.





Weather: fine, track: Slow7, rail: out 11 metres. 6mls rain forecast Thursday.









12.30 p.m. R1 8 Shezawinkle (4 m Rip Van Winkle - Sheza Gem) - Danielle Johnson; fought solidly for fifth in the Maiden 1800 metres here on 20 November and steps up in the $10,000 Maiden 2000 metres. The draw (11) is no help, but capable of another good effort with luck in running.





1.05 p.m. R2 5 Under Her Spell (3 f Not A Single Doubt - Bewitching) - Danielle Johnson; debuted with a solid performance for second on Good3 footing in January at Riccarton, and showed to quicken in two recent trials. She has gate speed to utilize barrier one and should go well in the $10,000 Maiden 3YO 1100 metres. 





1.05 p.m. R2 10 Madame Moet (3 f Iffraaj - Champagne Katie) - Joe Kamaruddin (a4); kept going solidly in third when trialling on 16 November at Taupo, and debuts in the $10,000 Maiden 3YO 1100 metres. She has been consistent through the trials stage, from a stakes performed mare that won twice to 1400 metres, and assisted by weight relief to 51.5kgs.





2.15 p.m. R4 4 Vino Bella (4 m Burgundy - Pinstinct) - Joe Kamaruddin (a4); had no trouble winning the Rating 65 1100 metres on 23 October and raced very well for third to stable-mate Burgundy Rose (Burgundy) in the Rating 74 1100 metres on 20 November, both on this course. Racing in good fettle, she has weight relief to 52.5kgs and capable of another competitive performance in the $11,000 Rating 74 1200 metres.





2.49 p.m. R5 8 Zouluminous (4 m Zoustar - Luminous Harmony) - Danielle Johnson; was without favours second-up in the Rating 65 1400 metres on 24 October at Te Rapa, and close when third in the Rating 65 1400 metres on 15 November at Waverley. She rates a top three chance from barrier one in the $10,000 Rating 65 1600 metres.





2.49 p.m. R5 10 Xplosion (4 m Showcasing - Xpress) - Craig Grylls; found the line without threatening in the Rating 65 1400 metres on 15 November at Waverley, and steps up in the $10,000 Rating 65 1600 metres. She is capable of an improved performance. 





5.13 p.m. R9 10 Vincere (4 m Pins - Lasting Luck) - Danielle Johnson; made good ground for second when resuming in the Maiden 1200 metres on 15 November at Waverley, and contests the $10,000 Maiden 1400 metres. She ran the fastest last 600m (35.5) when getting home for third on debut in the Maiden 1100 metres on 19 August at Taupo, and rates a top three chance despite drawing wide (14).
