Te Akau Taranaki Thursday Preview

Te Akau Racing has three horses entered on Thursday 8 June at New Plymouth.

Weather: fine, track: Heavy9, rail: out 10 metres. No rain forecast.

2:15 p.m. R5 1 Malborough Bay (3 g Darci Brahma - Spin ‘N Grin) - Michael McNab; he ran home well for third in a trial on 26 May at Waipa, and resumes in the $14,000 Rating 65 1200 metres. A debut winner as a two-year-old over 1200 metres, on Soft5 footing, and a stakes' placed and consistent performer, he rates a top three chance.

2:15 p.m. R5 4 She's A Showoff (4 m Showcasing - Que Sera) - Niranjan Parmar (a2); she went well in her first two resuming runs, but blew her chances last start with a slow beginning in the $14,000 Rating 65 1200 metres on 24 May at Tauranga. Contesting the corresponding event, she has weight relief to 55.5kg, and receives opportunity to bounce back as a top three proposition.

2:50 p.m. R6 4 Fay Khan It (4 m Mongolian Khan - Morgan Le Fay) - Craig Grylls; she closed nicely for third on a Heavy10 track in the Maiden 1600 metres on 14 May at Matamata, and justified favouritism winning the Maiden High-weight 1600 metres on 24 May at Tauranga. Coping with heavy ground, she brings the right form to race well again in the $14,000 Rating 65 1800 metres.
