Te Akau Taranaki Tuesday Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has four horses racing on 29 December at New Plymouth.

12.28 p.m. R1 8 Craving (2 f Tivaci - Inscrutable) - Samantha Collett; quickened through late into second when trialling on 8 December at Avondale, and debuts in the $10,000 Maiden 2YO 1100 metres. From the first crop of Waikato Stud stallion Tivaci (High Chaparral), winner of the All Aged Stakes (Gr. 1, 1400m) at Randwick, out of a mare by Champion Broodmare Sire Encosta De Lago (Fairy King) that has left three winners of eight races (1000m - 2600m).

1.03 p.m. R2 11 Jahzara (3 f Power - Game Duchess) - Lisa Allpress; pushed clear rounding the home turn and sustaining a strong gallop to win when trialling on 8 December at Avondale, and debuts from barrier four in the $10,000 NZB Insurance Maiden Fillies & Mares 1200 metres. Game Duchess has left six individual winners of 23 races, including Group 3 winners Exquisite Jewel (Lucky Unicorn) and Dark Princess (Cape Blanco).

1.38 p.m. R3 13 Maid of Orleans (3 f Sacred Falls - Our Joan of Arc) - Craig Grylls; fought well for third to subsequent winning stable-mate Campionessa (Contributer) on debut in the Maiden 3YO 1215 metres on 2 December at Rotorua, and steps up in the $10,000 Maiden 1400 metres. Ideally drawn (2), she rates a top three chance. 

1.38 p.m. R3 14 Image of You(3 f Pins - Exactly Like You) - Michael McNab; was carted wide and peaked on her debut run, finishing sixth in the Maiden 3YO 1215 metres on 2 December at Rotorua, and steps up in the $10,000 Maiden 1400 metres. Drawn barrier five should ensure a more economical run and the prospect of finishing closer.
